Hello Christmas Tree!

I try to limit myself to the Christmas collections I buy each year because there are always just SOOO many great ones!  I bought three, and the Glitz Designs "Hello December" was one of them!  I just loved the bold colors in this collection, and especially the yellow, which I think is so different for holiday collections!

I did this page about getting our tree this year!  I was inspired by Tammi's challenge on the 12 Days of Christmas challenges to use cards (4x6 or 3x4) on your page.

The word "Christmas" is actually cut from one of the papers in the collection.  The triangle (tree) is a sticker from the sticker sheet.

I decided to go with the small car/tree sticker (there is another larger one in the die cut pack) because I wanted my photos to stand out more.  I just poppe the sticker off a circle I punched from patterned paper.

On the background, you can see I used a Glitz roller doodle stamp to created the triangles, and then I cut the tree from patterned paper.

I can't wait to use more of this collection!  Have a great weekend!

Whooo's Cute?

The Glitz papers and die cuts from the new Finnley collection were just perfect for this page about my little guy in his owl hat .  Feathers=owls=perfect!

I love how the Glitz papers already look artsy...like I painted them!  But all I did was layer them and splatter a bit of white mist on the background.

There are a bunch of papers layered behind the photo, and some die cuts and stickers layered on top.  The largest feather is from the Finnley What Nots, and the smallest one is a wood veneer.  I inked it black and use a white pen for the spine.  The medium sized feather I simply cut free hand from paper and then used lots of little slits along the edges to create the feathery look.  I used a white pen down the middle of it, too!

I always try to balance my colors and elements on the page, so you will see the emerald green rhinestone in the top left, the same green "adorable" sticker on the photo, and the little green heart on the bottom right.

I added a bit of string behind the photo for some more texture and a little bit of machine stitching here and there.

Loving this collection and these papers!

Mixin' up some collections....

I don't often mix up collections, but sometimes its fun to do something different!  On this page I used Crate Paper Flea Market, Glitz Wild & Free, and American Crafts Amy Tan Cut & Paste (all of which are in the store).  These are definitely some of my favorite collections lately!

I stenciled a bit on the background and then just layered my papers. under my photos. I mimicked the circles in my photos into my journaling block to make them look like a cohesive pattern.  Finally, the black arrows add some movement to the page.

Check out these collections and so much more in the store!

Have you Hugged your Mum?

At first glance at the Wild & Free collection by Glitz, it may not look like it would be good for "fall" photos.  Take a look at these papers:

The colors washed ones made the perfect leaves for my page!

I used my die cutting machine to cut the leaves.

On the background, I used a stamp and heat embossed with white powder and then went over it with Gelatos and water.

Some layers of Glitz, American Crafts, and some Websters pages beneath the photo.

Do a double take on some of the papers you have and see if you can use them for fall!!

Also, if you create a layout with a question as the title, you can use it for my Word Up Wednesday challenge from 10/9/13!  Check it out HERE.
