Love Love Love

Hey there and Happy Weekend!  Missy with you today :)  I have a really fun page to share with you guys today.

I've been seeing a lot of projects using the negative cut outs backed with patterned paper, so I decided to give it a try.  I love the way it turned out!  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the word LOVE all over a piece of cardstock.  I took another piece and used some gelatos to create a watercolor rainbow effect.  It was so fast and easy to do this...and now I have several cut-outs of the word LOVE to use on future projects :)

I used The Pier from Crate Paper for my layering and embellishments.  Those frames are the coolest!

I'm a big fan of distressing and crinkling up the sides and corners of patterned paper layers.  I also love adding string of some sort...twine, floss, jute, etc.

I cut out one of the tags from one of the patterned paper sheets, added an eyelet and some string.

A little journaling completes the project.

You can find The Pier in the store...I promise you it's a fabulous line!!  Have a most excellent day, and thanks for stopping by!

At the Car Wash...

Want to know how to entertain a 2 year old and a 4 year old for 2 hours? Some dishsoap, water, and washcloths...then tell them it's a car wash! Works every time!

I used some papers from Pebbles "Lakeside", and Echo Park, too.

I love the layout of this page!  I was of course inspired by today's sketch on the blog!  You can check it out HERE.

I've also been trying to use some bits in my stash here and there: some old stickers from Sassafrass and October Afternoon, fabric brads and transparencies from Basic Grey, and alphas from Heidi Swapp and Lily Bee.

I Heart Summer

I'm so excited it is summer.  Time for relaxing at home, catching up on things around the house and vacations at the lake and beach!!!  I'm in TX so the only way to enjoy being outside during the summer is if there is water near by.

Simple Stories could not have come up with a better name.  I Heart Summer is the perfect mix of summery colors and fun patterns to dig in and scrap those summer photos, those really the patters would work for many other things as well.  But since I'm so excited that it is summer I went with some summer photos anyway.  I took inspiration for my LO from a page by Libby Pritchett.

I hope you are enjoying your summer!  Make sure to get your Got Talent entries in by tonight to be eligible for the weekly prize.

Up 2 Bat.

Hello and good morning...

Well the Got Talent III challenges are in full progress over in the forum... We're on week #3 in the forum and it's been super cool to see all the amazing creations from everyone...

The mini challenge for week #3 is all about punches.. using the ones that you have in your stash. I know I have a ton and I love to pull them out, whether I'm creating a border or punches shapes to add as embellies to my page. The challenge: use at least THREE punches on your page...

I used Studio Calico's Atlantic collection found in the store HERE... I LOVE it, esp because it's doesn't just have to be for summer or beachy pages.. I used it here on a sports page.
I used a border punch to pull your eye down the page, and I added a smaller piece of it at the top of the page to tie it together:
And then added some fun stars and buttons from other punches:
How do you use your punches???
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

She Makes Me Happy

Hey there, friends!  Missy here on this fine Saturday to share a page with you :)  This page was created for this week's {LIFT} challenge over on our boards.  One of our amazing members, mmgallant, created a page that was so gorgeous that I just had to choose it as our inspiration.  I pulled out the Everyday Eclectic line from Echo Park and tried to recreate her layout as closely as possible.  I loved every single detail about it.  I love splattering ink and adding stamping here and there, so this one was super fun for me to create!

You simply must visit mmgallant's gallery...and then you should join us on the boards :)

You can find tons of Echo Park goodness in our store HERE...check it out!

Thanks so much for taking a peek today....have a great weekend!

15 Years! Crate Paper DIY Shop

A few weekends ago I had my 15 year college reunion!  It felt like just yesterday that I graduated.  When I got back together with the girls, we hadn't missed a beat!  :)

I used the Crate Paper DIY Shop on this page.  This collection is SOOOO different.  You can get some many looks on your pages because the patterns are so versatile.  I went for a more feminine look on this page.

I fussy cut out a lot of flowers and the doilies.  Its easy to make embellishments just by fussy cutting papers!

I used some gold glittered cardstock and cut a few circles and a heart and tucked them here and there to add some sparkle.  I added a few buttons, too!

My numbers I also cut from patterned paper and I used a small vellum envelope behind my photo to add my journaling!

What is your most favorite versatile collection?

I can't Get Enough

Enough of what you ask?  Simple Stories 24/7.  Most collections after about 4 LO's I'm getting kind of tired of it and that is when I put it away and it starts becoming that stash I really need to use up.  Not this line.  I refuse to put it away.  It stays on my desk.  It is one of the easiest lines I have ever scrapped with.  It works with everything!

Have you been playing along with the Got Talent Challenges?  Today is the last day to get this past weeks entries in to be eligible for the weekly prize.  Don't worry if you didn't get to them.  You have all summer to get them done to be entered into the Grand Prize.  New Challenge will be up tomorrow.

Smile.

Hello and good morning...

It's Wendi here, and last week I shared with you about using some of Project Life's papers for non project life layouts. I have another page here, using the same kind of concept but with a different take. It's all in the layering. I used Echo Park's Happy Go Lucky Collection.
I took several 4x6 papers and layered them all over each other, along with a few of the 3x4 journaling cards on the layout.
I used one of the 3x4 quote cards as a focal point off of the photo. I thought the quote was perfect to add to the page and really wanted to highlight it.
I used my circle punch to punch out the YEAH's and pop dotted them throughout the page.
And then mounted the title on the banner for a stand out effect

So maybe this will give you some new ideas on how to use the Project Life inspired papers, even if you aren't involved with Project Life at this time.. I also used the My Scraps & More sketch #33 for this page. Make sure to check out Echo Park's Happy Go Lucky collection in the store before it's gone.

Have a great day

Giveaway Monday 6/17/13

Good Morning! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and squeezed in a little scrappy time! Two of my kids had graduations this past weekend, one from 5th grade and one from High School so it was busy...busy...busy! Even though I didn't get any crafting time myself, I did get a chance to look at all of the amazing layouts so many of you have shared for our My Scraps Got Talent III event!! Before the weekend, I played along with mini challenge #1 which was to incorporate 3 different stamps on your layout. This was defiantly a  challenge for me because I never stamp. And when I say never, I mean
N E V E R ! In the end though, it wasn't so bad and I really like the page!

Our giveaway today includes some papers from the line I used, MME Collectible! Leave a comment here by midnight on June 23rd for your chance at winning!!

Fun with Elle's Studio

Happy Weekend, friends!  Missy here today to share a fun page showcasing the Serendipity line from Elle's Studio.  Aren't the colors just so bright and yummy?  My favorite part is the flower cluster.  All of those gorgeous colors in one little bundle!

This page is part of our Got Talent contest going on right now over on our boards.  This challenge involves stamping.  We're having so much fun over there!  You should definitely come join us if you haven't already.  We'll have the next mini challenge up on Tuesday!

To create this page, I started off with a mask that I created using my Cameo.  I lightly misted over it to give the effect of faint hearts.  I then created my layered design around my photo.  I like the black & white picture against those colors!  I added in the stamps and then worked on my cluster at the top.  A few clear buttons with some twine topped it all off.

If you'd like to join us, go visit our boards HERE.  We'd love to play with you!  And if you'd like to see more products from Elle's Studio, visit our store HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Let's take a DIP!

The water in the lakes is still really chilly in Mid-June, yet that didn't stop my daughter from jumping on in!

I used the "Atlantic" collection from Studio Calico for this page.  You should really check it out in the My Scraps & More store!  It is a really great summer/nautical line!  I based this page off of today's sketch at the My Scraps & More sketch blog.

On my background, I wanted a bit more color, so I painted a large yellow circle with some watered down mist.  Then I splattered some Navy and aqua mists.

I had a third photo that just wasn't working in the design of the page (I always have a hard time mixing up portrait and landscape photos on a layout!), so I decided just to tuck it behind the larger photo with a little tab and clothespin to pull out!

I fussy cut out the anchor from patterned paper and added some flair.  I also used a vellum garland from my stash and cut apart the stitched circles and glued them around the page here and there.

Be sure to visit the sketch blog to see more awesome layouts with the sketch!

It's Summertime!!!

I have been counting down the days until school ended.  It has been a wonderful week having time to actually relax a bit and get some things done.  Of course it has still been a pretty busy week which is making me long for next week now.  We are headed to the beach, wooohoooo!!!

Thinking of the beach has gotten me motivated to pull out last years beach photos and start scrapping them, not to mention getting to dig into one of my newest purchases Carta Bellas Boardwalk collection.  This is the first time I have ever had anything from this manufacture and I really love it.  Such great patterns and colors on a nice heavy paper, great for manipulating, which you will see I did a lot of on this page.

Don't forget today is the last day to get your LO's up for this past weeks Got Talent challenges to be eligible for the weekly prize.  A new challenge will be up tomorrow.  Happy Scrapping!!!!

This Was Awesome!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Lisa here to share a layout I made with the Elle's Studio Saltwater Collection. First of all, I have to say, this is the first time I have worked with any Elle's Studio products. Second of all, I am hooked on them! LOL!
I used pictures of Austin in the tunnel at SeaLife in the Mall of America. We were all blown away at how cool it was to have turtles and sharks swimming around us. If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT! My husband and kids weren't exactly thrilled when I told them that was one thing we had to do there, but were really glad they did it!

Anyway, here is my layout:

The "hello there" rhinestone is from the Color Me Happy Collection by Glitz.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

Turning 10.

Hello and good morning...

One of the latest fads out there are project life papers. Alot of the manufactures have jumped on the band wagon and are making more pages to fit the project life size scrapbooking style. At this time I am not doing project life, but I LOVE the concept of it, BUT, that doesn't mean that I can't use the papers that are being designed for Project Life itself.

I created this layout using Echo Park's Happy Go Lucky Collection. I'm also using this layout for the upcoming Play challenge...
I used all 4x6 sized papers on the this page.
I used some bling and MME enamel dots to add some pop to the banners:
And some of the Lily Bee sticker strips:
So how do you use the Project Life papers on your pages??? Make sure to check out the Echo Park collection in the store, this line is TOO fun!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day

Our first Got Talent Challenge!

Happy Saturday, friends!  Missy here with you today to remind you about our Got Talent III contest going on over on our boards...we just started yesterday with our first challenge.  The challenge is to use NO PATTERNED PAPER...pretty hard, huh?  You should see the awesome pages our members are creating!  They are tackling it and loving it, and surprising themselves!

Here's what I created as my sample page...lots of paint, tissue paper, stamping, washi tape, some old Fancy Pants transparencies, chipboard and a die-cut title.  I just went through my stash and picked out random things that were pink and yellow.  I started by painting and then literally just started stamping in various places.  I laid my photo down and started adding the tape.  It's all a matter of layering, and there's no right or wrong place to put something.  That's the beauty of the messy factor :)

A close up of the tissue paper.  I just tore some and used some glossy accents to stick it down.  I put some on my finger and just smoothed it over the top.

This piece with the circles cut out was actually the backing of a sheet of old circle stickers.  It added some texture and interest, and I just gessoed over it and added all my goodies on top of it.

I gessoed and painted this butterfly with my fingers and then traced around him with a black pen.

Random stamping and washi tape...

It looks complicated, but this kind of page is actually easy and fast to make.  There is no picking out papers and measuring.  Just throw it down and go!  If you'd like to join in on our summer-long contest, go HERE.  We'd love to have you join us!  We have challenges going up all summer every Friday and a mini-challenge every Tuesday.  GREAT prizes up for grabs!!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Missy :)
