Such a Funny Kid.

Hello and good morning...

I know... I haven't gotten enough of the AC Shimelle line, and I really have loved using it. So here is one more page using it. My lil one dressed herself up one day and was so proud of her made up outfit, in fact, she stayed in it all day...

All the little tags have been fussy cut from the Crate Notes & Things Memo paper. Both of the cork pieces are from the AC Shimelle embellies. I added a bit of misting splats on the page.

Don't ever be afraid to mix up a line with one from another company. A lot of scrapbook companies seem to use similar color pallets at certain times of the year, and it makes it easier to mix and match lines. I LOVE it when I can interchange companies papers. It makes me feel like I have a some new options to play around with...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

A forgotten layout...

Happy Friday, friends :)  Missy here with you today.   I hope you're ready for a fun weekend of crafting!  Today, I'm sharing a layout I created back in August for a challenge over on the My Scraps & More boards.  I completely forgot to share it here on the blog!  Oops!  Blonde moment :)  So here it is!

For this challenge, the rules were to use stamps to create an embellishment.  I used a circle heart stamp from Jillibean Soup.  I stamped it a few times in different colored inks, cut it out, added pop dots, and that's it!  A handmade embellishment :)  I also created one using the "hello life" stamp, but I can't for the life of me remember what brand it is.

I used some gorgeous My Mind's Eye products for this...it's a mix of Necessities Wood, Record It and Now and Then.  There's also some American Crafts goodies thrown in the mix.

I know I say it every time, but I just love layering.  I don't think I could create a layout with layers!  The "love" part of my title is a Cameo cut.  I used white cardstock and then watercolored it the pink to match.  I layered in some AC Mayberry die cuts as well as some chipboard from Cut & Paste.  My big white circles were cut from my Cameo and I backed each one with MME papers.

I just love the color mix here.  That green is from the watercolors I added to the wood background.  I'm kind of obsessed with watercolors....but you probably already knew that...haha :)

Another angle of the layering and texture....here you can see where I added gesso to the background.  And that cute arrow paper clip was from a clearance pack at Hobby Lobby a while ago.  You just never know what you may find while browsing around!

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)  I hope you have a great weekend!

Happiness is You.

Hello and good morning....

I actually mixed it up a bit, and used a patterned paper (Studio Calico Wonder Wheel) for my base, something I don't do too often, but I just LOVED the fun sunburst full of colors. I scrapped a little selfie and me and my lil one.

I got messy with my background.. First, painting on some gesso over a mask. Next, I took my pink mist and used the same mist but changed the location of it and misted on the page. I did the same thing with my yellow mist, higher up on the page. Then I used my black mist and added some splats.

I used an AC Shimelle wood piece, and added both pink and yellow distress ink to alter it a bit.

Then I actually used a bit of Pink Paislee Solstice papers in the background... talk about mixing it up a bit...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by today and have a great day!!!

Holiday scrapping!

I know people are already posting Halloween, fall, and even Christmas pages, but I'm a bit behind!  :)  So I am sharing a 4th of July page with you today!  I posted a challenge on the message board to use holiday photos (from any holiday), but use a paper line that ISN'T holiday related.

When I first saw some of the prints from the Fancy Pants Everyday Circus collection, I thought the reds, creams, teal, and navy would be perfect for July 4th photos.

I took the burst papers, cut our a large circle, then cut away some of the spokes of the burst to create a "firework" element.  I stitched over it with some gold thread and added some white die cut stars around the page along with some buttons and a tag from the Everyday Circus line.

I die cut my title on my Silhouette, and added a few gold glitter enamel dots and gold star stickers to add some sparkle!

La La La Love You...Using Up Older Stash

Hello there and Happy Friday :)  Missy here.  The layout I'm sharing today features an older Glitz collection...Finnley.  I worked on going through some of my stash last month, and my Glitz lines were the target.  I made four pages using a few of my stashed away collections.  I made this one for one of the summer challenges over on our forums to use a HUGE title on a layout.  I chose this adorable cut file from The Cut Shoppe and blew it up really large.  It just seemed to be meant to work with the design of this layout, and I really love how it turned out.

I jazzed up this beautiful green background sheet with a stencil and modeling paste and a little watercolor.  I used black & grey to add a little bit of darkness here and there since there are black elements scattered around the page.  I doodled an outline around the title to make it pop a little more.

I used lots of stickers from the collection as well as some of the pocket cards, die cuts and giant rhinestones.  This line is actually a baby collection, but it reminds me of Christmas. I made a layout about neither, and it still works!  I think it's because of all the green in my photos.  I also added lots of stamping on my background.

Layers are so much fun to build.  I think my favorite part is building a layer cluster and tucking things in underneath.  I added pop dots to my photo...it just adds that little something extra to the page.

I hope this inspires you to use a really big title on a layout.  Don't be afraid to go bold!  It's really fun!

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a GREAT weekend!

I'm Tough

I'm still learning. Don't you love how you can scrap one way for years and then try something new and love the results.  I'm horrible about mixing collections.  It takes so much effort when most collections come with everything I need :)  Well the problem is then I never touch my older stash again because I've used most of my favorite pieces already.  Mixing things up can solve that problem.  I pulled out some old Echo Park All About a Boy but it didn't have enough of the pieces of what I wanted.  I then pulled out Carta Bella's Rough and Tumble and added that in.  It gave me the perfect combination to complete my page.

All of the wild patterns show the flow of the fun of the pictures.

2 Cards.

Hello and good morning...

Every now and again, I see a paper and it just talks to me... I mean really... I saw this Crate Notes and Things Memo paper and thought, oh my gosh I just want to cut it all up and make some cards with it. The sentiments were already on it, and these cards honestly, just came together easily.

Here's the paper:

First up, I made a Thank You card with the tags at the top of the page.

I even fussy cut out the butterfly and added a a pop dot to it for a 3D embellie..  I just added the twine and enamels and was finished.

Secondly, a Hello card. 5x5 cards have become a fast favorite size for me to make cards with.

I cut out and layered several of the tag pieces and then fussy cut out the butterflies, and added  a few enamels too.

Listen carefully to the paper, it may be trying to talk to you and say something....Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

BRIGHTS! And lots of new items this week!!!

I have been so drawn to really bright papers lately.  For example, the colors in the Shimelle line, Brighton Pier by Studio Calico, and even Echo Park Creative Agenda.

I pulled this yellow piece of paper from Crate Paper Notes & Things, and then used paper from the Shimelle 6x6 paper pads for punches of other bright colors.

I also used the Crate Paper kraft labels, which I just LOVE!  I thought kraft helped tone down the brights a bit, but still allowed them to stand out.  I added a label to some of the strips from the Shimelle paper.
