Fast Scrap Sketch

Hello there, Wendi here.

If you didn't get a chance to be apart of the Trick or Treat Crop at the My Scraps forum, all I can say is that you really missed out!!! One of the coolest parts of the crop, was the two fast scrap sketches. What is a fast scrap sketch? A sketch is presented in a thread, and you have ONE hour to get your layout completed and then have a few minutes to get it uploaded into the gallery and the challenge thread.

I got to play along to the second night of the Fast Scrap Sketch challenge and had a blast.. By the end, your fingers are shaking and your heart is pounding!! It's sooo much fun!!!

Here is my layout that I completed:
The photos were taken at my sisters wedding, and it was late into the afternoon and my daughter was about done with pictures... LOL
I used some of Crate's On Trend collection, that you can find in the My Scraps store HERE. The flower paper is perfect to fussy cut.
I also used some of the border stickers across the page. I LOVE those things!!!

Make sure to see what is going on at our next crop, you won't want to miss out!!!!!

Have a wonderful day, and stay safe to all those on the East Coast!!!!

Crate Paper - On Trend

Good morning, fellow scrappers!  Missy here to share a project that I created using Crate Paper's On Trend collection.  There is such a variation of colors & patterns in this line...it really can be used for anything.  I have two daughters, so I always tend to create "girly" pages.  This layout is no exception...

The chipboard shapes, 3-dimensional word titles, borders & journaling spots are so fun and can be used in so many ways.  There is so much in this line that it was hard to pick which elements to use!  I think the banner and that big butterfly are my favorite :)

This line is available in the My Scraps store, plus there's a few new lines from other manufacturers that just came in!  Hurry on over and check it out HERE!

Have a GREAT day!

Missy :)

Trick or Treat Crop Challenge layout

Hi everyone!!

The Trick-or-Treat Crop is still going on!! You have until tomorrow to turn in your layouts!! You can find it HERE in the forum.

Today I am going to share a layout I created for one of the challenges:

Trick-or-Treat Crop Challenge #7:
My absolute favorite candy of all time, especially at Halloween, is Sweet Tarts!!!

For your challenge, you are to use Sweet Tarts as your inspiration! The colors, shapes, packaging, name, etc...whatever inspires you! Just be sure to include what it was when you upload your layout!

I have used the Sweet Day collection by Echo Park for my layout. I was inspired by the colors and the name.

In addition to the candy challenge, you are also to use this fabulous sketch by Kristine Davidson:

Acorn Ave by Crate Paper

Audrey here!  Hope you are still playing along with our crop challenges until the 28th!

One of my latest purchases from the My Scraps & More store was the Acorn Ave. line by Crate Paper.  I am a huge Crate Paper fan!  I love all the fall elements in this collection, yet the papers are not themey, so you can use them for anything!  But I still used them for some photos of my daughter playing in the leaves!  :)

I did a bit of a watercolor wash and then inked though a hexagon stencil.  I die cut the large tree with my Cricut and traced some leaf shapes with a black pen.

I layered lots of the chipboard pieces and stickers here...

I also bought On Trend from Crate Paper and Sleigh Ride, too!!!  I am loving all these new Crate releases!

BOO

Have you been participating in our crop?  If you haven't had a chance yet don't fret because there is still time to get the challenges done.  One of my challenges is the "BOO" challenge.  When I think of ghost I think of darkness and see through.  For this challenge I want to see a layout with a dark background and a clean item on it.  Here is my creation.  Yours does not have to be Halloween related, I was just having a lot of fun with my Halloween photos.  I have the dark background and the clean time is the transparency film strip.

Trick or Treat!

Good morning, friends!  Missy here to remind you about our Trick or Treat Crop going on right now here at My Scraps and More.  There are 14 challenges up on our forum right now!  That's a lot of Halloween inspiration to get your creative juices flowing :)

The design team members have created challenges based on their favorite Halloween candy and mixing it with sketches by the amazing Kristine Davidson.  My favorite candy has always been M&Ms :)  Here is what I created based on a sketch & the candy.  I created my own M&Ms by using a mask, some modeling paste and some paint.  To make it run, I sprayed water from a squirt bottle right onto the paper and it ran and bled together.  Then I added buttons, which also remind me of M&Ms!  Check out the forum to see the sketch :)

The other challenges are Halloween related. My challenge is to use a non-traditional color on a Halloween or other holiday page. I used the October Afternoon Witch Hazel line for this, and it has a few blue sheets included. Blue is not a color I would normally think of when it comes to Halloween.

This Witch Hazel collection is in the My Scraps store, and you can get your hands on it right now!  There is always something new coming in for purchase, so check it out!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day!

Jenny's Reveal - October projects

Hi everyone!!

Jenny here to share my projects that I created with the MME Lost and Found Halloween collection. I have to say, that I am a total sucker for Halloween lines...LOVE them!! And, this one is no exception! The neutral colors with the pop of orange glitter is amazing! I decided to scrap my 2010 Halloween photos, as I haven't scrapped them yet! I still have many, many more to scrap, but I picked a few and had a blast playing!!

Beware:
For this layout, I scrapped this fun(supposed to be scary, lol) photo of Daniel. This is one of my favorite photos! I added the lightning to help with the scariness, and I am really liking it!! Definitely going to do this more!!

Costume Crazy:
This layout is of the boys in their costumes. I darkened the photo a bit...making it "scarier", lol.

 Happy Halloween:
This is our family photo we take every Halloween. I feel it's important for my husband and I to be in the photos, too. Seeing as during Halloween, we usually only get photos of our cuties in their costumes trick-o-treating. :)

Halloween:
I decided to make a quick and simple Halloween card, as well.

Can you tell which were my favorite papers??? They showed up in every layout and one on the card.  ;)

I really love how these projects turned out!! I wasn't so sure how I was going to like the glitter, but it adds SOOO much to the look of the pages/card!!!

The other girls did AMAZING!! Be sure to check out their projects as well!
Hope we inspired you all, and that you enjoyed this month's reveal!! :)

You can purchase some My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween for yourself at the My Scraps and More store HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by My Scraps today!!

**Don't forget that we are hosting an online Halloween crop this weekend over at the forums!! Lots of challenges and games and prizes!!! You can find it HERE!!**

Audrey's MME Lost & Found Reveal

I am so behind on scrapping my Halloween photos, so I was really looking forward to working with a traditional Halloween color palette with these My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween papers!

This fist page has some photos from the pumpkin patch about 2 years ago.  I added some pattern to the background by swiping white paint and stamping with a doily image.  I had more photos than I wanted to put on the page, so I made a little folder to put the extras in.

On this 2nd page, I liked the contrast of the newsprint pattern banners on a busy background like the chevron.  I created some flow on the page by adding a large circle to ground my photos and some more small banners on the right side, too.

Lastly, I wanted to play a little with some of the drawn images on the papers, so I used some mists as watercolors and painted in a pumpkin, which I then fussy cut and popped off the front of the card.  I added a little witches hat to the pumpkin, too!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to the message board today for the start of our Trick Or Treat crop!  Don't be SCARED!!!!

Tracy's DT Reveal

Halloween lines have become one of my favorite papers to work with, and to think I used to not like papers that were too themey.  I was going to scrap some non-Halloween photos but once I dug out last years I just couldn't put them down.  The spooky look of this MME Lost and Found line worked so well for eerie pumpkins and as I'm a glitter lover, having it already a part of the paper was a big plus!

I originally wasn't going to do a card since I don't give Halloween cards but as it turns out we are going to a birthday party tomorrow night and it is a costume party, so I thought these papers would be absolutely perfect with the Halloween colors but since the birthday girl is quite young I kept the eerie parts of the papers off.

Now as I said doing these pages really got me into scrapping Halloween and with our Trick-or Treat crop starting tomorrow I've got lots more to share.  Come on over to the forum tomorrow and see what tricks and treats we have for you.  There is still time to sign up for bingo too.

I used this line for a Halloween layout:

                                       a Halloween card:

and then I wanted to show you that you can use these papers for other layouts besides Halloween:

Stay tuned the rest of this week to see what some of the other design team members did with this wonderful line!
