September Pass it On Reveal!

Happy Friday, scrappers!  Missy here.  I'm SO excited for today's blog post because it has been a month in the making.   I hosted our Pass It On Challenge this month over on our boards, which is where I chose a layout from our gallery to scraplift.  Then once I'm finished, I send my layout to someone, and then that person sends it to the next.  No one sees the original layout until the very end....which is NOW!

So without further delay....let's see them all!  Yay!

I chose this awesome layout by Michelle from our gallery.  I loved the photo strip and all of the fun embellishments.

Here is my lift.  I used the Shimelle collection and tried to mimic the same design as Michelle.

Here's where things get funny!  When I put up the sign up post, guess who was the first person to sign up?  Michelle!  Ha!  She lifted MY layout of a lift of HER layout!  She did a beautiful job....again!  And she didn't know it was her layout that I had chosen!

Celeste was next.  She based her layout on Michelle's lift.  The design is still the same, and I love how she incorporated a frame and that fun twine!

Julie received Celeste's layout and turned it on its side to create this beautiful page.  She also used a frame or two, and I love that she added a fun cluster at the bottom!

Karrie lifted Julie's page and did a great job.  She enlarged the design and kept the same horizontal aspect going.  I really love the circles she added in and that pretty striped paper!

Jenessa created a gorgeous page based on Karrie's layout.  She kept the circle element going and added in lots of layering.  I love her stitching and how she backed her Thickers!

Leslie received Jenessa's page and came up with this pretty creation!  She also kept the circles going and added in some gorgeous flowers.  I love how much the photo pops in this...very elegant!

Here's Heather's take on Leslie's layout.  You can see how the design is shifting to the side at this point, which I love.  GREAT photo here, and I love those little sprigs on the right side of the photo!  Amazing dog page....and there are still circle elements in this page!

Carol lifted Heather and created this beautiful layout.  I love the inking on this...everything really pops.  I love all of the embellishments here, which is prevalent in the original layout.  Beautiful!

Joanie took on Carols's page and flipped her design to the right side.  This one is so fun and bright, and I love that she used such a cute picture!  I also love how she used tiny and large alphas for her title.

Tammy is up next with her take on Joanie's page.  Who doesn't love summer fun pages?!  This one is awesome, and I love that she added in some mixed media...my fave!  Love her embellishments, too.

Tracy played along and lifted Tammy's layout.  From summer to winter...haha!  Love this snowy layout.  It's crazy how colors can really make you "feel" the page...yellow makes you feel hot and white makes you feel cold.  I really love the snowflakes and mist here...now I have chill bumps!

Brenda lifted Tracy's design and came up with this gorgeous page!  LOVE the color combo here and that fun cluster at the top.  Those buttons at the bottom are awesome!  Love the layers, too.

Wendi was our final player.  She moved her focus back to the left but kept all the layering and embellishments.  I love her color scheme and that fun stitched banner on the side!  Such a great photo, too!

And back to the original layout one more time....

Isn't it amazing how things change?  Every one of these layouts are beautiful, and they were all based on this page.  This is a really fun game, and we will do it again in a few months.  I'm so thrilled we had 13 players!  That's fabulous!

I hope you're inspired by these wonderful designs!  Make sure you check the boards for Wendi's Kit Swap this month!

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to check out the store for all the new arrivals!

Come on out all you card makers!!

It is almost time to celebrate World Card Making Day!!!  I hope you are planning on joining us for the blog hop we are having this weekend over on  the sketch blog. It's all about the cards!  I really need to replenish my stash so I'm not rushing to make them at the last minute.  In honor of the upcoming holiday I thought I would share a few cards with you.

This first card is a card I made for my secret pal at work.  She isn't a scrapper so hopefully she won't see this and figure out I'm her secret pal.  It was a just card to say hi and offer encouragement.  I thought what better way than to have her two adorable boys on the card.  I actually got lucky and happened to be in the lounge when she found it in her box, so I got to hear her say how cute it was and wonder how in the world someone got the picture of her boys. I printed it off her facebook :)

This second card is an unusual shape for a reason.  It was a goodbye card for someone I work with who decided to resign and is now looking for a new job.  The shape was made so it would fit in the envelope that came with a gift certificate for a pedicure.

For both of these cards I used the Heidi Swapp Dreamy collection. Hope you will come play along with us in the blog hop.

October MOTM

Hey there scrappy friends!
Lisa here today.
We are starting up our member of the month again and this month I chose Tami, aka momawhite99, on the message board.

I am a huge fan of Tami's work. She rocks the boys pages and the sports pages!
I asked Tami a few questions and this is what she had to say:

Tell us a bit about yourself? Where you live, married?, kids?, work?
I am a married mom of 2 teen boys, Bo 17 and Tucker 13. My husband and I both work fulltime at a Ford dealership...and you wonder why I am crazy-HAHAHA
How long have you been scrapping?
I have been scrapping since 2008.

What got you into scrapping?
I had seen some friends who had gotten into it-saw their work and thought OH how I would love that and could do a much better job. I think I was thinking that ugly thought because they didnt invite me to join. Besides I used to somewhat scrap in High School--I saved every single piece of emphemera I could and added it to my photos for my album. Thats scrapping right? Besides, when my Mom passed away-I had boxes of photos with no information of who some of the people were, where we were, and how old we were. I realized I dont want my kids to ever experience that. Or me if I get Alzheimer's?
Do you have a blog?
I have a blog...Life in the White House ...but I dont use it very much here lately.
Five things you don't know about me...
My left leg is 1/4 inch shorter than my right one
I scrap at my dinner table even though we live in an 1800 sq foot home--CRAZY huh?
I wanted to be a hairdresser but I realized I couldnt take someones $$ to give them an
ugly haircut that would look stupid no matter what they thought---LOL
I love to go fishing but wont eat it
I have an obession with tennis shoes--if I ever win the lottery I will have a pair in every
color of the rainbow

Here are a few of my favorite pieces of Tami's work:

Thanks Tami for inspiring us here at My Scraps & More!

Such a Funny Kid.

Hello and good morning...

I know... I haven't gotten enough of the AC Shimelle line, and I really have loved using it. So here is one more page using it. My lil one dressed herself up one day and was so proud of her made up outfit, in fact, she stayed in it all day...

All the little tags have been fussy cut from the Crate Notes & Things Memo paper. Both of the cork pieces are from the AC Shimelle embellies. I added a bit of misting splats on the page.

Don't ever be afraid to mix up a line with one from another company. A lot of scrapbook companies seem to use similar color pallets at certain times of the year, and it makes it easier to mix and match lines. I LOVE it when I can interchange companies papers. It makes me feel like I have a some new options to play around with...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

A forgotten layout...

Happy Friday, friends :)  Missy here with you today.   I hope you're ready for a fun weekend of crafting!  Today, I'm sharing a layout I created back in August for a challenge over on the My Scraps & More boards.  I completely forgot to share it here on the blog!  Oops!  Blonde moment :)  So here it is!

For this challenge, the rules were to use stamps to create an embellishment.  I used a circle heart stamp from Jillibean Soup.  I stamped it a few times in different colored inks, cut it out, added pop dots, and that's it!  A handmade embellishment :)  I also created one using the "hello life" stamp, but I can't for the life of me remember what brand it is.

I used some gorgeous My Mind's Eye products for this...it's a mix of Necessities Wood, Record It and Now and Then.  There's also some American Crafts goodies thrown in the mix.

I know I say it every time, but I just love layering.  I don't think I could create a layout with layers!  The "love" part of my title is a Cameo cut.  I used white cardstock and then watercolored it the pink to match.  I layered in some AC Mayberry die cuts as well as some chipboard from Cut & Paste.  My big white circles were cut from my Cameo and I backed each one with MME papers.

I just love the color mix here.  That green is from the watercolors I added to the wood background.  I'm kind of obsessed with watercolors....but you probably already knew that...haha :)

Another angle of the layering and texture....here you can see where I added gesso to the background.  And that cute arrow paper clip was from a clearance pack at Hobby Lobby a while ago.  You just never know what you may find while browsing around!

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)  I hope you have a great weekend!

You Are My Greatest Adventure

Hello! Happy Wednesday!
Lisa here to share a layout using Lily B We Are Family and Fancy Pants Burlap & Bouquets. It's not very often that I mix lines, but I love how these two work together.

I also added some twine, thread, watercolor, washi tape and buttons.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
