Christmas in June!

It is hot here on the Gulf Coast! Everyone together now - "How hot is it?"
106 Degrees!
Not safe to do many activities outside so the girls and I have hunkered down with party prep (Priscilla is thirteen today!) and craft projects.
To really cool off I have put myself in a Christmas frame of mind and been scrapping last year's Christmas photos.
A Perfect Gift

From the My Scraps and More Store I used -
Crate Paper Apple Pie
Crate Paper Cross Stitch
Crate Paper Accent Cuts
October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers

To create the spool of twine I cut the spool from the Crate Paper Accent Cuts. I secured the end of the twine to the back of the spool with tape and wrapped it around the spool - intentionally leaving it a bit messy. I left some trailing off - curving and looping it - secured with good old tacky glue. I secured the spool of thread to my page with foam dots.
I used this sketch by Diana Fisher.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Fancy This - Easter Layouts!

For June the My Scraps and More Design Team was given the Summer Soul Collection from Fancy Pants. I not only completed some fun summer layouts I tackled a few Easter layouts as well.
In this first layout I scrapped a few silly pictures of Amory at our church picnic.
Is That Your Easter Bonnet?

I used: Scuba paper, Luau paper, Beach Towel paper, Snorkle paper, Grass Skirt paper, Summer Soul Alphas, Summer Soul cards, October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers

For this next layout I used two pictures of my girls in their Easter Dresses. Aren't they pretty?

Kristin's Design Team Reveal

This month the design team was sent Fancy Pants Summer Soul collection. I had alot fun creating with this line. It is not just for beach and pool pictures, I was able to create quite a few Easter pages too!
Something is unusual in these first two layouts, do you see it? I do - I am IN the pictures!

I used: Mirage paper, Ocean Waves paper, Summer Soul Strips paper, Summer Soul alphas, October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers

For this next layout I used a few things in the line but cut them apart and used them in a different way.
I used the small surfboards from the Summer Soul Strips paper as banner flags under my photo. A fun technique that gives the surfboards a new purpose!
I used the "At The Beach" card on the Summer Soul Cards differently too by cutting it apart. I punched "at" and "the" out with my starburst punch and placed in my title along with the rest of the card.
Don't forget to make a collection yours - make it work for you!

The next layout celebrates the sweet love of my husband for his girls. Amory and Priscilla are both Daddy's girls - they certainly have him wrapped around their fingers!
Father's Day is this weekend - June 17th - have you made a page celebrating the love of a father and his children lately?

I used: Ocean Waves paper, Beach Towel paper, Sandcastle paper, Scuba paper, Summer Soul Strips

And with the scraps - a card to say thank you for stopping by!

Have a blessed day,
Kristin

Double the Fun

I wanted to share two double page layouts I made with the line Lime Twist from My Mind's Eye. You can find it here in the My Scraps and More store. these are pictures from my daughter Amory's birthday party and as usual I (and others) took alot of pictures. And I could not pick just a few so I need big layouts to showcase most of them!
I used double page layout sketches from Scrapbbok Challenges. Thank you Ginni for sharing this site with me!

And the second double page layout - of Amory's blowing out candles and making a wish! All of the paper and Happy Day diecut can be found in the My Scraps and More store here.

A Few More ...

I wanted to show you a few more projects I did using the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers that Tammi sent us. My daughter Amory is all about butterflies and the colors pink and purple. Although she says her favorite color is sparkle (girl after my own heart!). So I knew that I needed to make something for her room with the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper.
I fund these candle holder/wall sconces and one of my favorite thrift stores and I bought them on Wednesday so they half off! I also bought two drawer pulls from Hobby Lobby. How are these things going to make a coat hook might you ask?

Like this! I removed the mirror and mod podged paper onto them and put it back in. I removed all of the hardware from the drawer pulls and glued (E6000 adhesive) the drawer pulls into the candleholder. A little bling on the butterflies and flowers and we are done!
I did make two but they are exactly the same and I didn't want to bore you!

Next up I made a summer fun basket for Amory. On the first full day of summer after they get out of school I leave them a little treat - I will show you Priscilla's next week! Target clearance to the rescue! Everything - basket and all this project cost $2.00! The basket was a leftover from Easter at 90% off and all the craft supplies were in the dollar section at 70% off!
I took this basket and

created this! I replaced the broken handle with 26 guage wire wrapped in ribbon. And then I covered the sad and half wiped away lamb with My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper, diecut, and a sticker.
I think Amory will love it!
