Hello and good morning... Happy Tuesday!!!! Today I am sharing a couple of Christmas cards that I made using the Shimelle Christmas Magic collection... pretty much my go to Christmas line this year... First off I created this card... using a center focus approach, and leaving most of the outside space unused:
I used the clear Heidi Swapp Christmas sentiment strips too:
Then I went with layers on this card:
And added a pop of twine on the die cut candy cane:
Did you make your Christmas cards this year? Did you send them out?
Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!
Hey, friends! Missy here, and I'm so happy it's Friday! Today I wanted to share a layout I created last month as the November Guest Designer for Basic Grey! Yayyyyy! I remember the very first sheet of scrapbook paper I ever bought in my local scrapbook store years ago was Basic Grey, and it was so pretty I never wanted to cut into it. My heart skipped a beat when I received an email from THE Becky Fleck...yes....Becky Fleck!! What!! Of course I said YES!
I used the beautiful new Sunkissed collection. This is one of those pages. I couldn't decide which papers to use first, so I used almost all of them! I cut a bunch of butterflies on my Cameo and placed them on my background paper like they were flying out of the photo. I did some mixed media work on the background using white gesso, gelatos and various spray inks. I used my sewing machine to stitch through the centers of all the butterflies.
I just love these patterns and colors...they are so me! I love them against this beautiful sky blue background sheet. I added in some stickers and die cuts from the collection as well as some tangled thread from my stash.
This awesome "fabulous" die cut is part of the ephemera pack, and it makes the perfect title! I paired it with some of the small pink alpha stickers and then added my journaling below it.
I hope this inspires you in some way to use lots of patterned papers on your layout! Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
Lisa here today to share a layout I created for the word up Wednesday challenge over on the forum.
My challenge is to use the word "today" on your page.
I used Simple Stories We Are Family Red Calico/Linen for my background along with Pink Paislee Memorandum and Cedar Lane for this layout of my daughter holding her acceptance letter from the college she was hoping to go to!
Here are a few close ups:
Anything that is touching the big file folder, is only attached to the folder, since I will putting here acceptance letter in it.
Love the gold in this collection!
I added some arrows and stickers:
The "Dream Big" is washi tape, perfect for this page:
Hello and good morning... Happy Tuesday!!!! hope you are having a great week!! I
wanted to share a layout that I scrapped a few days ago. Audrey has a
fun 12 days of Christmas challenges going on in the forum and on the My
Scraps And More facebook page. I played along with the "Do you see what I
see?" challenge, and created this page with the American Crafts Shimelle Christmas Magic collection. I scrapped one of our most recent family photos. We try and take a new one each year for our Christmas card and here it is:
I fussy cut the tag from the Give paper and then added a few of the die cuts from the line:
And fussy cut out all the presents and layered them, along with a bit of bling:
So make sure to check out all the challenges for the 12 Days, you have till the 20th to play along!!!
Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!
Hello! Jennifer here today to share a layout I created with Elle's Studio's Joyful collection from the MSAM shop! I am a big fan of Christmas collections that include other non traditional colors like pink and grey!
I used some of the pink Elle's Studio letter stickers I had in my stash for my title! I thought they went perfect with the colors of the line! I love the colorful stripes on the b-side of Making A List and the fun prints of the Joyful paper!
Here is one of the cute journaling tags from the line to accent my photo! From my stash I used some enamel dots as well as wood veneer star bursts.
I also cut out a little 2x2 square from the Oh What Fun Paper that includes multi-sized cut outs on a 12x12 sheet.
Another cute snippet from the Oh What Fun Page! I am loving the grey and typed print!
Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to snatch up this collection before its gone! Use code CLOSEOUT50 for your shopping! Have a wonderful Saturday!
Happy Friday, friends! Missy here. Today's layout is one I created for a Saturday Scraplift last month. I lifted a page from Yu-Shan, and I used the Basic Grey B-Side collection.
I started with this awesome distressed grey background paper and used a foam brush and acrylic paint to created a few bold brush strokes like Yu-Shan did. I used tissue paper, a little fish-tailed banner piece, a triangle, and I used the same title as she did. Her one large photo was also centered with layers.
I love the mix of colors and patterns in this collection! It's so fun, and the sentiments are really awesome. I didn't have any orange letter stickers, so I used some acrylic orange paint and smudged it on some white Thickers. Worked like a charm!
And as you can see, I decided to add some stitching AFTER I stuck the Thickers down.....and they sort of ripped when I tried to peel them up. I did my best to "fix" them...haha. These little white alpha stickers are from Evalicious, and I just had to add that in there :D
I used a lot of the 6x6 papers for these torn layers. I added in lots of machine stitching, and I also stitched on that "Hello Gorgeous" die cut at the top.
I colored that little arrow with a green gelato, and I traced around the "3" triangle with a black Sharpie to make it pop a little more. I added in a flair button from my stash and then added in some orange tangled thread.
Here's one more close-up of the top. I used my craft knife to slice around the "Stoked" letters so I could overlap them on top of my photo without covering them up. The "haha!" stamp is from my stash....it's from a Fiskars set I found at Michael's.
Here's the process video for this page...I hope you enjoy and get some fun ideas!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great Friday!
Hi there, Lisa here today to share a page I made to highlight a bunch of snapchat and instagram photos of my daughter's recent trip to Kentucky. Because the photos were not of very high quality, I chose to keep them small and make little accordian flip books on the layout. I used Simple Stories papers and Crate Journey and Open Road embellishments for the layout.
All of the photos you see here have more underneath...the large one at the top flips up with the license plate sticker with more photos and journaling. The three photos on the bottom actually hold about 20 more photos in flip out form.
Hey there! Lisa here with you today to share a layout I created using PhotoPlay Autumn Day. this collection is perfect for your fall or Thanksgiving pages.
I used photos from our fall camping trip of the beautiful trees along the Yellow River.
I used a stencil and distress inks, Gesso and water to create my background:
I fussy cut the trees and foxes, aren't they adorable?!
Another fussy cut tree that I added thread behind and my simple "Fall" title:
The pumpkins were also fussy cut and I added that cute fox sticker:
Hello and good morning... Happy Tuesday!!! Today I am sharing a layout with you using the American Crafts Shimelle Christmas collection...
but guess what I totally did not do... I did NOT make a Christmas
page.. I used the collection for a boy layout of my son at his middle
school graduation. The line has lots of blues and darker colors and lots
of non themey papers too.
I
used some older thickers for the title to bring out the blue, and just
LOVED the fun camera embellie and couldn't resist using it on the page:
I misted one of the papers with holiday writing on it, and you can't even tell....
So check out the Shimelle Christmas collection, for more than just your holiday photos.... Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!
Hello! Jennifer here today to share another layout I created using Basic Grey's Typeset collection! I am really loving the colors of this line!
I used one of the frames in the cardstock stickers to hold my journaling as well as added additional title stickers and a cute button!
One of my favorite embellishments of this line are the cute flair badges! You receive six in each package!
I cut pennants from my Silhouette from the different patterns then cut the ends. I adhered them in random spots on my page and then stitched though.
My title is from the cute letter stickers that come in the paper pack! I also added another flair as well as enamel dots from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit the My Scraps and More Shop for the close out sale! I'm so sad that MSAM is ending but very grateful to have been a part of the team!
Happy Friday, friends! Missy back with you. Today I'm sharing another layout I created for last month's Pinspirational Crop over on our boards. I chose Clothing as one of my challenges, and I used this pin for inspiration. I love the outfit for starters, but I love the mix of colors with the bold stripes added in. I used the color scheme and the stripes for my layout.
I pulled out some of my American Crafts Polka Dot Party stash for this since the colors were perfect. The background yellow sheet is from Pink Paislee. This turned out to be a very different layout for me, I think, but I really like how it turned out. I decided to create sort of a diagonal design by adding in some white cardstock. I added some white gesso and then used gelatos and watercolors to add some "messy stuff" to the background. The layers behind my photos are pretty simple; I did add in a diagonal die cut I created on my Cameo. I added in some black stitching for extra detail and that's about it.
I love the mix of colors and how the watercolors and ink splatters look on the background. I did add a flair button from my stash with some yellow thread under it.
Layering is such a great technique, and I really didn't use a lot of paper to create this. It was made from old scraps I had leftover. That cute arrow clip is from Evalicious.
I used up some of those awesome Thickers I've been hoarding, and I paired them with some of the Elle's Studio alpha stamps that are still available in the store.
I hope this gives you some inspiration on how to use an image of just about anything for scrapbooking. Inspiration is everywhere :)
Here's my process video for this layout if you'd like to see how I put it all together.
Hi there, Lisa here today to share a layout I created about my love for the PSL. Pumpkin Spice Latte. I am all about pumpkin, and it doesn't matter to me if the drink is hot or cold...it's just so YUMMY! On this particular day I had both, hot and cold! (The barista was sharing mini PSL Frapps)
I used the Photo Play Paper Autumn Day Collection and a Gold Thicker word I've been hoarding for the layout. Love that I had a chance to use this paper again and document my love for PSL!!
Hello and happy Wednesday! Lisa here today to share a layout I created for the November 28th "lift" challenge over on the forum. I lifted a layout by Julie and used Pink Paislee Cedar Lane and came up with this page:
Here are some close ups:
I use watercolors and a stamp to create my background.
Then I added lots of layers:
I love the colors and pops of gold in this collection!
I also love the acetate diecuts- perfect for this girly page of my daughter:
Another close up of the layers and an acetate diecut:
Thanks to Julie for all the inspiration and thanks to you for stopping by and sharing your day with us!
