Welcome to April!

Good Morning!!  And welcome to April and my first Design Team post!

I am so happy to be part of the wonderful Design Team here at My Scraps and More!

This is going to be a fun adventure!
For my first post, I wanted to share a fun page I made using the new "Boys" Mini Theme kit by Echo Park.

This title certainly fits the picture.  What was supposed to be a nice walk at the Nature Center, turned into one very busy laundry day.
I wanted to bring out some of the elements of the whole picture, which meant to focus on the mud and dirt.  The best way for me to do that, was to get outside and do lots of genuine distressing.  We have had a little bit of rain lately, so mud was aplenty!  I used decorative scissors to cut my photo mat.  The next step was to go outside and drop it in the fresh mud.  I swished it around a little bit, until I felt I got just the right amount of color…and mess.  It dried pretty quickly, thank goodness!  The next step was to add a little bit of dirt.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to get dirt to stick to a page??  I compromised and dug out that mornings coffee grounds.  The coarseness was just perfect and worked great with some Tacky Glue.
This is a great, inexpensive and practical way to modify your pages.  The best part is that there is still more to the kit and there is still mud outside!  I am so taking the kids out for another photo shoot!  And lucky enough, I always have fresh coffee grounds to spare!
I hope you enjoyed this little "tutorial".  I would love to see what you can create using these techniques.
Have a great day!!

(A great APRIL FOOLS DAY that is!!  This page was actually made using some brown paint and black glitter and micro beads.  Although, if your are up to using real mud, I would love to see that too!)
