Back to School

I need someone to tell me what happened to summer!  Every year it just seems to go faster and faster.  My kids started back on Monday.  It is so weird having all 3 of them in school now.  It's been 11 years since I haven't had at least one of them with me.  Jacob is now in 6th grade (middle school), Austin is in 2nd, and my baby Autumn has headed off to Kindergarten.

I'm big on teacher gifts.  I want them to know how much they are appreciated for all the time they spend with our little ones.  With the number of teachers I have for 3 kids through the years that can get quite pricey so I like to make things for them.  For back to school I sent my two little ones with these teacher survival boxes.

I hope these will be useful as well as bring them a little laughter when they see the stress relief ball and container of Tylenol.  I used Authentique's Lively collection.  The beautiful patterns on the double sided paper worked perfectly for use on these clear boxes as the patterns show through when the box is open.

I thought it was strange that both of the little ones had teachers that began with a G.  It made it pretty easy for doing their initial on the boxes.  Then I tied it up with a bow and made a tag with a quote that I thought was perfect for an elementary teacher.
"It takes a big heart to shape little minds".

I hope this has inspired you to all the different possibilities that can be done with our scrappy supplies.
