A little card sketch for you!

Good Morning and happy Tuesday!!

It's Janelle here today and I hope everyone is having a good day.

We are getting a bit of rain here, so that is good...I love the rain!

Anyway....

Today I wanted to share with you a quick and cute card sketch I made.

Here is the simple sketch:

I like to keep my sketches nice and simple, that way there is more room for you to interpret the design how you want. :)

And here are some examples I made with this sketch:

 This first one I made exactly like the sketch, and then this next one I flipped on it's side.

 For each of these cards I used the Dilly Dally 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye's Miss Caroline collection.  I love these papers!  The 6x6 pads are perfect for card making, and I especially love this pad because it has papers that work well for either feminine or masculine cards.

Saturday Share

Hi all! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! Today was filled with errands, including the grocery store, which takes  F O R E V E R  on a Saturday! I didn't want to go but now I am glad that it is done and frees me up from that duty for the rest of the week!! Afterward, I got a little time to finish up the last challenge for our Idol contest. I used a bunch of old October Afternoon papers that I have been hoarding and combined them with a sketch from Creative Scrappers. I have to admit...I kinda like the end result!! What do you think?!?  Don't forget to visit the forums and check out the "Let's Lift It" crop fun going on. The first pre-crop challenge was posted today and it is a great one!

TGIF!! So glad this day is finally here! It seems to have been a loooooong week. I am looking forward to catching up on a little sleep in the morning! How about you?

The last main challenge in our Idol contest was posted on Wednesday. This has been such a fun time on the forums. If you didn't get a chance to play along, there is still time. My Minds Eye

Dear Lizzy love

Good Morning!!  It's Janelle here and I hope y'all are having a lovely day.

Speaking of lovely....

have you seen the new Dear Lizzy line, Neapolitan?!

It is truly lovely and wanted to share some of it's loveliness with you today!

I knew I wanted to create something with these new papers for my blog post today, so I was leafing through all the papers looking for the sheets I wanted to use and I found this page: 

 It's called Dreamy Days and I loved the layout of this paper, especially the little pictures reminiscent of polaroids.

So I used this paper as inspiration for my layout!

I had eight pictures that I was trying to fit on a single page layout.  I cropped them to 2x2.5 inches and printed them on 4x6 sheets, so there was lots of white space around them.  Then rather than cut all the white off, I trimmed it, leaving a border on all sides and extra space on the bottom of each photo. Voila! You have little polaroid-looking pictures!

Tracy's Reveal

Good Morning!!!  I hope everyone is having a good week, we are on the downward slope to the weekend!  This is Tracy here to show you what I did with the fun Cosmo Cricket Clementine line.  I just love the soft, sweet colors of this line and found it very versatile.  These first two were wonderful spring days first with my daughter and her friend and the second my son and his cousin.  See how well the colors work for boy pages as well.

Since we did just have Valentines day I also created a few valentines projects with them.  A LO from my daughters Valentines party from last year and then of course a card for my sweet husband.

 

Design Team Reveal

Good morning and happy hump day! Lisa here with you this morning to share what I did with the Cosmo Cricket Clementine line! I just love the colors in this line!

I loved all the little squares on the ivy paper and cut a bunch apart for this layout:

For my next layout I fussy cut the scallops from the Pheobe paper, I love this paper and didn't want to use it all, lol! I also made an accordion flower and hand cut a banner:

I always like to make a card or project with the papers Tammi sends me and this month I chose to recycle something! I used a salad dressing jar and wrapped the middle of the jar with the ivy paper, cut the heart strip off the Lila paper, fussy cut most of the heart except the "peaks" and pulled the heart towards me. I cut the back part of the flowers using my Cricut and popped up a flower sticker from the Lovely Bits sticker sheet. I painted the cover, added another Cricut scalloped circle and another flower sticker to it. I wrapped bakers twine around the lid and tied it in a bow.

The kids love our new candy jar!

I loved the color combination of these papers, perfect for Valentine's Day or springtime layouts.

First up, I made a set of cards:

I loved the little one inch squares on the one sheet of paper, so I cut them apart and made a set of coordinating cards, each with a different sentiment.

Then I made this layout of my daughter:

I couldn't resist using all the fun butterfly stickers that go with these papers! :)

Meet our 2nd Guest Designer for Febrary!!

It has been wonderful having Sherri and Ginni as part of our team this month.  So let's get to know Sherri a little better.

I'm Sherri and I live in East Texas half way between Dallas and Shreveport.  I've been scrapping for about 10 years.  I started out by making a gift album for my nephew for his graduation from high school.  Then I did a graduation album for my God-daughter that same year for her high school graduation.  I remember having one little scrapbooking tote and thinking it was so big, how could I ever fill it up.  Now I have a room full of "stuff".  I still love making gift albums!  It's fun to take a friend's drawer of photos and put them into a scrapbook for their kids when they graduate or have some other big occasion and see their expressions when they look through the scrapbook.  It's brings my heart joy.  

My hubby and I have been married for 30 years and I have two boys, both Eagle Scouts, Jeremy age 22 and Timothy age 19.  I now also have a daughter-in-law and the most precious granddaughter, my Gracie girl who is 20 months old.  Everyone says being a grandma is the best thing ever, and they are not kidding.  You can't even really describe it until it happens to you.  So after scrapping boys (scouts, cars, acting, cross country) for years and years, I finally get to scrap a baby girl!  I used to borrow friends photos just so I could scrap girl pages.  Yes, I already have a full scrapbook from her first year.  We have a group of friends that met online and we have been having a Texas scrap get together once or twice a year for the last 8 years.  It is always such a joy to get away and hang out and laugh and have girl time!  I highly recommend it.  I have enjoyed My Scraps and more ever since Lisa introduced me to it.  Love the fun challenges.  I'm looking forward to helping out with "Scrapping Idol" this month!

Mixing Up Photos

Good morning!
Lisa here with you today to share a layout. I love mixing  black & white photos up with colored photos on a layout, it really draws your eye to the colored photo. I used 2 black & white photos and added a color photo  right between them on this layout of Austin. Did you notice, they are all the same photo?  Love the look!

I used the Fancy Pants Winterland line for this layout.

Friday Fun Day!

 TGIF!! I, for one, am glad that it is Friday! The kids have no school on Monday so I have a long weekend of relaxing, crafting and fun ahead of me! I hope that you will have all of that too! Tuesday on the message board was the day for our stash challenge. It was also the end of our resolution challenges on the board. The theme for this last week was "to lose" which seemed to be the number one resolution when I was doing some looking around online. For my layout, I chose to use up my stash of buttons and really use them up, or in other words, lose a lot!! It is hard to see in the photo but I put a lot of different buttons in the polka dot paper going across the page. I thought it worked for this challenge! For some fun today, how about a little guessing game? Guess the amount of buttons are in my button jar and post your answer in this thread by midnight February 9th. The closest one to the correct answer won't receive this jar, but will win some MME Stella & Rose buttons from me!! The winner of the ram from last Friday is... lynda! Congratulations!
