DIY: make your own chevron stripes

Good Morning!
It's Janelle here again and I have a little tutorial for you today!

So have you noticed the chevron crazy going on right now?
This pattern is everywhere!  Fabric, paper, wallpaper, rugs, towel...everywhere!
I wanted to show you how to make your own chevron stripes out of patterned paper.
Let's get started!

STEP1: cut several strips of paper, all the same size.  Mine were 4" long by 3/4" wide.

STEP 2: Hold two of the strips so that the corners overlap at a 90 degree angle.

STEP 3: Take your scissors and cut through the corner of the papers, straight from the inside corner to that outside point.

STEP 4: You have two strips of paper with mitered edges that should match up pretty darn near perfectly.

STEP 5: Repeat steps 1-4 for each end of each strip of paper. Continue adding more stripes in various patterns until you have achieved the desired pattern.

And here is my finished layout with the patterned chevron stripes! I used Crate Paper's Toy Box collection for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Have fun creating!
