It's Just Her Thing

Happy Saturday, friends!  It's Missy here.  The layout I'm sharing today features some older Echo Park goodies...specifically the Record It 2 collection from a few years ago.  I created this for last week's Throwback Thursday challenge.  The rules were to use a collection at least two years old and to create your own background from plain cardstock.  (You can check out all the newer EP releases in the My Scraps store.)

I still have bits and pieces of this line left, and I just love it.  I used a sunburst stencil and some bright yellow Dylusions spray, stamps and spray ink to create my background.  I layered a few pieces of patterned paper behind my photo and then fussy cut a few flowers and the blue scalloped border on the right.  I added in several stickers and brads to finish it off.

I took some sandpaper to these red alphas.  They were just a tad brighter than I wanted, so this lightened them up perfectly and gave them a little bit of an edge.

Lots going on here...watercolor paint, stamping, pop dotted sticker, blingy brad and a stamp on a transparency.  That's a little trick I use sometimes if I want to stamp but don't quite know where.  I stamp it on a piece of clear transparency and then just cut it out.  I wouldn't have been able to stamp on the yellow thread, so this allowed me to layer the stamp on top.

More layers and stamping here.  The more I look at these detail shots, the more I love this collection!

I know you have LOTS of older collections lying around, so make a point to create a layout with some of it.  I love when you can take older goodies and make them "new" again!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT Mother's Day tomorrow!

Missy :)
