My Girls Get 1st Place

Hey, guys!  It's Missy here today.  1st place in what, you ask?  Check out this silly page...haha!  I created this layout last week for our Tuesday Trigger challenge.  The theme for May was GROWTH, so my challenge was to create a shape and use it in small to large sizes on your page.  I used circles in various sizes as my background design.

These cute pictures of my girls stalling during bedtime were perfect.  I used mostly the 6x6 paper pad from the Crate Paper Styleboard collection and lots of the stickers and chipboard pieces.  When I saw the two prize ribbons, I knew this title was perfect :)

I added watercolors to the background for more colors and washi tape along the sides.  I also doodled a little bit just for the fun of it.  I also added a bit of gesso to the circles right beside the photos.

I added a bit of thread as well...I do this a lot nowadays :)

Isn't this "First Prize" die-cut so cute?  I love that I was able to use it and tie it into my title.

I used some old stickers from stash and paired them with these burlap Thickers.  I love how it all came together!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great weekend!

playing with Chic Tags...

Hey scrappy friends! Tammi here today to share a recent page I created with the new "Cloud 9" collection from Chic Tags. If you have not yet had the opportunity to play with their papers, you must try them out!! They are created on a very heavy weight paper that makes creating with them sooooo easy!!! This line had some many fun embellishments I had to get them all!

On this page I used one of their wood veneers...

 a Chic Tag clip...

and for my title I used a saying from the tidbits.

Oh so fun and all still available in the store!! Grab some for yourself to play along!!!

Have a great weekend!!

Project Life

If you visit us over on the forum you know about the great deal I found on project life page protectors.  I tend to get in a rut when scrapping sometimes.  I have so many photos that I print because they are so cute (my daughter is a poser :) ) but after scrapping a few I'm burned out on them and just sit there and stare at all those photos that I have that I need to scrap.  Project Life is going to solve this problem.  I scrap some of the photos as regular LO's and then I use these project life protectors to scrap the many photos that I've printed.  Here is a sample of one using Jillibean Soup Sightseeing Stew.

Here are some closeups that show I can still play with the paper and embellies when creating these pages too. Sorry for the poor photos.  The only bad thing is that photos have to be taken of the page protector.

2 Peas In a Pod

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!! Hope you are all recovered from the long weekend. I have a feeling I will be dragging today... LOL...

I'm sharing a page with you of a photo of my daughter and her BFF. The two of them are complete peas in a pod together, and they could almost pass as sisters.

I used some MME Now and Then Dorothy papers and mixed and matched them for my page. I used the Pretty "Charmed" paper, and fussy cut the triangle out of it, and used it as a focal point.

I used one of the sticker pinwheels and added an enamel dot to the center of it:

and then added some stitching across the This Week "shimmer" paper, which has a great feel to it:

thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Hey Miss Pickles

Happy Saturday, friends!  Missy here.  I just LOVE bright and bold colors!  I think I'm truly in love with the new DIY Boutique collection from Simple Stories.  The patterns are so fun, and the colors are just so rich.  And there are SO many stickers to choose from...I wanted to use them all on one page...I had to restrain myself...haha!

I created this page earlier this week for a Word Wednesday Challenge.  The word was "Hey."  I just love this cute picture of my little Paige...she always looks like she's up to something.  We've always called her Miss Pickles, and we're always saying, "Hey, Miss Pickles" to her.  It just fits her :)

So I pulled out this gorgeous collection and went to work with layering and embellishing.  I created a messy and fun background with Dylusions sprays, gelatos, stamps and washi tape.  I love backgrounds like this because they're messy and random...very hard to mess up.  If you do, just stamp around it or add some paint splatters.

I used a Crafter's Workshop template to create the misted arrows on the page, and then stamped the other side onto the page to use up the rest of the mist.  Love the messy blobs of yellow it created.  I used lots of stickers, stamps and enamel dots.

More layering, stickers, thread and a sticker title included in the collection.  Isn't that green so pretty and bright?  I just love it.

More layering...it just creates such wonderful depth.

I challenge you to get messy and create your own background...it's really liberating to know that you made a unique design, and you also have more of your patterned paper to go around for your next project.  Plus, no one else will have the same creation :)

If you like what you see, come check out this collection HERE in the My Scraps Store!

Magical Timeless Snapshots

When most look at these Heidi Swapp Dreamy papers they probably think spring with the pastel colors, but not me.  I'm finding they work wonderfully for some of my winter photos, especially since Autumn had a pink jacket.  The blue reminds me so much of the Colorado sky.

Here is a close up of the enamel shapes.  Love all the different shapes that it comes with.

Choose Happy

Hello and good morning...

I scrapped some photos from our Hawaii trip, it's probably the MOST photos I've actually gotten on a single page in a loooooong time. I was shocked that I actually liked my page when I was done, cuz I'm usually just a one or two photo gal, occasionally when I'm feeling crazy, I'll add in three photos.

For this page I actually combined the two Heidi Swapp lines- Dreamy and Favorite Things, they work really well together.

I used a Heidi Swapp Choose Happy paper for my background and decided to keep the "Choose Happy" as my actual title for the page:

I also used the Heidi Swapp embellies through the page, and the circles are the Favorite Things line, the Rainbow Rounds paper.

And then added some washi strips sewn down the center:

Thanks soooo much for stopping by and have a great day....

LOTS going on!!!

Hello hello!!!

Sometimes there are some really BUSY patterned papers, and I get so intimidated by them that I only use a little bit of them here and there.  But I decided to try and get out of this rut by challenging myself to use a lot more of a busy print.

I used this bright colored, overlapping polka dots paper from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Day Dreamer line.  I cut the paper and an angle and used big chunks of them on the side and bottom.  I kept embellishments around my photos minimal, so as not to distract any more from the photos themselves.

A New Use For Feet

What a crazy title, right?!  Haha!  Let me explain....  (Oh, by the way, it's Missy here with you today).

My little Reesie just loves to use her feet whenever she can.  On this day she made herself quite comfy at the end of the couch and used her feet propped up to hold her book.  She gathered pillows to put behind her back and everything.  I was impressed, so naturally I took some pictures :)

I created this based on an awesome layout by one of our My Scraps Members (ScrapMomof2).  I lifted her page for our Friday Favorite challenge yesterday.  We both used the American Crafts Plus One collection.  I used mostly barcode strips to create the border, and then I used my Tiny Attacher and a stitch stamp over it.  I added layers of paper, more stamps and washi tape.  Lastly, I embellished with some rub-ons, stickers, diecuts and thread.

Something as simple as a pop dot can change the whole look of a layout.  I loved this globe die cut.  Since she was reading, it just reminded me of knowledge and learning.  I remember going to the library as a little girl and seeing this huge globe there.  So globes remind me of books :)  Anyway, I used gelatos (dry) to color it.  I just smudged it with my finger.  I colored the gold base with a metallic gold pen.

Thickers!  And bright pink ones at that....LOVE!

I added in pops of orange here and there.  I think it goes nicely with all the other bright colors.

I would love to see you join us over on the boards.  You can just jump right in with our challenges and have a great time with us!  Go HERE to check it all out.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Smarty Pants

There are all types of scrapbook collection "themes": Christmas, Halloween, Wedding, Beach, etc. Is there one them in particular that you have a difficult time finding papers and embellishments that you really like? The answer to that for me is School. Most of the stuff that I would find was geared more to little kids, or grade school, not for my middle schooler. That is until Simple Stories came out with the "Smarty Pants' line. I loved that this seems to be geared to older kids...perfect for my middle school son!!

I created this page for one of our favorite challenges on the message boards...Friday Favorites! It is our version of a scraplift challenge. I love that we get to highlight one of our members work every week!!!

Maybe you will be chosen for our next "favorite". Simply join in with us on the message boards and share your work in the gallery. You will be so glad to join our fun community!!!

Have a wonderful Friday!!!

Winter Time Fun

Now that I'm not dreading the miserable cold weather outside I have found I'm enjoying going back and scrapping some winter pages.  There is something about being able to go outside and enjoy 80 degree weather that makes me enjoy looking at snow pictures :)  I'm determined to get as much use out of my Jillibean Placemat before I actually put in on a page.  For this page I used it as a stencil to do the entire background for the page. I added a little paint in with some modeling paste.  This added the color and made it not quite as thick so it didn't damage the placemat when I was spreading it.

Here is a closeup of the dimension of the modeling paste and the layers of the photos.

I created this page with sketch #10 from the sketchathon created by Missy.  If you are like me you ran out of time to do all the sketches, so I plan on continuing to use them for inspiration.

Bubble Wrap

Hey there scrappy friends!
Lisa here with you today to share a layout I created using Elle's Studio Everyday Moments. This line is awesome for any layout! This photo of Sierra was taken Christmas Eve while opening her presents from us. She had a blast playing with the bubble wrap! I guess she takes after me, I enjoy it too! LOL

I actually used bubble wrap and paint along with some water color to create my background:

The white scalloped circles piece, is just a scrap I had laying around from a previous layout and I decided to add it under my photos:

I added some stitching and a few hand cut chevrons:

This layout was so fun to do!
Hope you have a great day!
