My Scraps & More New Year's Blog Hop!

Welcome to the My Scraps & More first blog hop! The arrival of a new year always brings resolutions along with it. We at My Scraps & More are focusing on these resolutions all through the month of January with a crop on the forum and we are starting it off with a blog hop! This is the order of the hop:My Scraps & More blog(you are here),Lisa(go here next) ,Shawna, Janelle, and Tracy. As you hop along to each of the Design Team's blogs you will be collecting "ingredients" to our New Year's recipe. After you have collected all the ingredients, create a layout using those "ingredients". Post a comment on the My Scraps & More blog with a link to your layout. Layouts are due Sunday, January 8, 11:59 pm. I will randomly select a winner(using random.org) for the grand prize of Fancy Pants Winterland paper collection. Be sure to watch along the way as some of the design team members are giving away RAKs with their own requirements. My New Years Resolution is to spend more "family time." Don't get me wrong, I spend a lot of time with my family but it may be doing homework, making dinner or simply watching t.v.. All of those are important times but I want to have more FUN family times!! For my layout I used a picture of me and the kids on our trip to New York City this past summer! It was such a fun time just hanging out together!!


The ingredient that you have to take away from my layout and include on your own is CHIPBOARD! Now you need to hop on over to Lisa's blog here!!

12 Days of Christmas Challenge of Challenges

Hi all! Over on the message board we recently celebrated the 12 Days of christmas with a new challenge for each of the 12 day. On the 13th day, our design team put up the challenge to create a layout using something from each of the 12 days! this was the challenge...

1 handmade embellishment

2 different title fonts

3 ribbons or trims

4 colors minimum

5 circles

6 pattern papers minimum

7 strips of paper

8 of anything you chose

9 squares

10 buttons

11 eyelets or brads

12 pieces of a banner

We have had a couple who complete this and I wanted to share their creations here. You would think that they would look kind of, what do I want to say..."full" but they are both awesome! The first layout is by Wendy Crowe and the second is by design team member Tracy Rhodes...

Dear Mr. Claus

Good Morning! I hope that all of you are well! This week has started out as a rough one but it is getting better. I hope to head to the mall to finish up my Christmas shopping today...wish me luck!! If any of you have any great stocling stuffer ideas for teenagers, I would LOVE to hear them!!

Today is a GREAT day!!

Good Morning! Today is a great day!! For one, it is my birthday!!! I still love my birthday even if that means I am getting older and older. I feel like a little kid at times, reminding my family that my birthday is coming. Not because I want to get presents, but just because I am excited!! Silly, I know, but I can't help it! Speaking of presents, I have a cute story to share... this weekend my daughter took my son (he's 10) to the mall because he insisted on wanting to get me a gift. After they got back, he picked up my gloves from the counter and said, 'Are these yours?" After I told him that they were, his response was, "well, looks like I just wasted some money." Wonder what he got me for my birthday?? Too cute!! If any of you know me at all, I can ALWAYS use gloves!! If I am right, I know that I will love 'em!!
