1 Good Pic, 1 Funny Pic

Hello and good morning...

Well, if your kids are anything like mine... lately I can barely get a "good" picture of them when they are all together, esp when cousins are involved. They are usually laughing up a storm and having a blast. So I have to bribe them for a good picture in exchange for one funny picture.. This will usually get a decently good one..

I used Fancy Pant's Be Different collection for this page, it seems to work really well with both boy and girl photos...

I broke apart my title and made it a two liner, and used some of the fun arrows from the Ephemera Pack.

I added a bit of different colors for my misting and enamel dots too:

This is a pretty simple page for me.  I have REALLY been wanting to make a page with a circle shaped photo lately.  It is a bit of a challenge, but I like the outcome!

Speaking of My Mind's Eye, products from the new Necessities collections will be arriving this week! Do you like enamel dots?  Woodgrain prints?  Metallics? Vellum?  You MUST check out these lines!

Outdoor Girl

Hello, friends!  It's Missy here with you today.  I'm sharing a layout with you that I created for the April Sketchathon going on all month long on our boards.  I created the sketch that this page was based on.  There's still a little time left in the month if you'd like to join us!  There's a new sketch up every day.

I used the Daily Flash collection from October Afternoon for this.  I just love the color combinations here against the grey & white striped background.  The minute I saw that little deer I knew I just had to use in on a layout about my little one and how much she likes being outside.

I did a lot of layering here, and I even used a border punch!  I haven't been too good about using them lately.  I have a ton of them, and I guess I go through phases.  I like how it adds interest to the design.  I also mixed my alphas...some old Lily Bee stickers and some burlap Thickers.

These wooden veneer flowers were on clearance at Michael's not long ago.  I used a Ranger paint dabber to color them blue, and then I outlined them with a white pen.  I layered a sticker and some cord in there as well.

I love these fun little pieces...tabs, banners and arrows.  Perfect for little corner clusters :)

Hey scrappy friends! Tammi here today to share a page and sketch that I recently created for the sketchathon going on over on the boards!

Here is my sketch...

I pulled out the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Styleboard line to play with this time and boy did I have fun!!!

Wasn't sure how this was going to all look together but I really like the end product!! There is still some of this awesome collection available in the store here for you to take home and play with yourself!!

Hey Mom or Daughter

When Simple Stories came out with their Hey Mom collection I knew I had to have it.  Was it because I scrap a lot of pictures about myself, certainly not. Was it because I scrap a lot of pictures about my mom, well I do scrap her some but it is usually as the role of grandma not mom.  The reason I had to have it was because it had some purple in it.  Not a lot of companies make purple and I have a daughter who loves purple.  So yes, this collection will work for much more than just mom pages. I have also found no matter what the line the purple will never exactly match the color purple from the photos.  That is where ribbon or paint can tie it all in.

I created this page using Lisa's sketch #3 from the sketchathon.  Now if you look at my end result you will find it looks nothing like her sketch but I promise it was where I started from.  That is the great thing about sketches, they give you a jumping off point and you can end up anywhere.

The twist for this sketch was to use some kind of memorbilia.  I added the recital brochure to the page.  Since I didn't want it to block the whole page I slipped it under the paper and then also attached one to the back of the page so all the information could still be seen.

This tag was part of the Simple Stories collection and was generic enough to work for any person, not just mom.  Though most moms are quite fabulous :)

The Good Life

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Today I am sharing a layout I lifted from Tabitha. I used mostly Elle's Studio Everyday Moments. I love the colors in this collection! I used a stencil and added some light modeling paste and then once it dried painted it with watercolors and added a few drops of brown ink.

My Sweet Girls and You Are My World

Hello and good morning...

ok, I have to admit it.. I think I have a new FAVE line... The Fancy Pants As You Wish line had totally caught my heart and I have fallen head over heals with it. The rich colors are so gorgeous and I just love all the fun patterns within the collection.. They really outdid themselves this time.

For my first page, You Are My World, I used an instagram photo of my little one, just hanging out on the couch at home:

I saw the globe and title on the Paper my World paper and just wanted to use that for my title. I added some enamel hearts to make the hearts stand out:

And then played around with the chevrons on the Paper This & That paper:

For my second layout, I'm sharing a page about my two girls together, even though there is an eight and a half year difference, there is such a strong bond with these two:

From the Paper Quilt Work paper, I punched the circles and then crumpled them up and added some enamel dots to the centers:

Here we go!

Here is sketch #20 from the Sketchathon that was posted yesterday on the forum!  There is still LOTs of time to play along!  I used some Crate Paper Boys Rule for this page.  I really liked the primary colors of the papers and the "chalkboard"-like elements.

Summer Ponytail

Happy Saturday!  Missy here with you today :)  I'm sharing a layout I created for the April Sketchathon going on over on our boards.  I didn't realize how fun it is to create sketches!  All the Design Team Members are creating their own sketches, and a new one is posted every day this month.  Here's one of the sketches I came up with...

And here's the layout.  I used primarily the Lemon Lush collection from Studio Calico.  I love the bright colors and fun patterns.  I'm usually not a crazy green color lover, but this background paper matched the green in her shirt perfectly.  I added some gesso to blend out some of the text, and then modeling paste over a stencil, then some watercolors.  I wanted to bring out the blues in the patterned paper.

There are a couple of American Crafts embellishments thrown in here, too.

Lots of texture right here.  Modeling paste, tape, paper and thread.

And the other side.  I just love these fun red alpha stickers from SC!  The SUMMER stickers are from my stash...I think they're Doodlebug from years ago.  I painted them a darker blue to match.

One more shot...I had a blue button that matched the other blues.  This yellow piece is one of the vellum cards in the SC collection.

Summer Bliss

I love my title, Summer Bliss, but would love it even more if the temperature around here matched it. I am sooooooo ready for summer and I am guessing that most of you are too so I am getting us all in the mood by sharing a couple of warm weather layouts created with the great Echo Park Summer Bliss collection.

Echo Park knocked it out of the park with this release again with the oranges, teals, and yellow colors! It just screams SUMMER!!!! These two layouts were also created using a couple of the sketches from our SketchAThon going on now in the forums. We would love to see you there!!

Beach Time

Well I have fallen behind on the sketches I was doing.  But this weekend is a 3 day weekend, woohooo!!!  I hope to be able to catch up on some of them.  This page I created was from Wendi's Sketch #5.  I used Fancy Pants Nautical for this page of our trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The twist for the sketch I will admit I almost forgot about, woops!  I had to add it in when the LO was complete.  It was to add some kind of critters.  I'm not a stamping person but I remembered an old stamp I had of an alligator and never used, I knew it would be just perfect.  Of course just one wasn't enough so I kept going :)

If you haven't come by to play along with the sketchathon I hope you will.  There is a lot of inspiration up and much more to come!
