Mini Desk Calendar

Good Morning and TGIF!! Today I want to share with you a desk calendar that I made for my step daughter. A couple of weeks before Christmas I saw these great picture frames at Michaels and got this idea. My intention was to complete it before the holiday and give it to her as a gift but I had no creative time through the holiday so it ended up being a few days late.

I first started with my supplies: 12 wallet sized pictures, wide frame with glass out, 2 large binder rings and small 12 month calendar pages (which I printed for free from the internet)

I then cut my chosen papers to the desired size ( mine are about 5 x 7 )

and then I trimmed the calendar pages to fit my mini-layouts...

I ALWAYS ink everything so this was no exception. I also used my crop-a-dile and punched two holes at the top to fit the binder rings.

and I created 12 mini-layouts! Here are a couple of the completed pages. (this was the fun part!!)

From all of my excitement for finishing the project, I forgot to take a picture when it was completed. :( I hope that you can still get the idea. I am planning on making one for myself soon! It came together really quickly and made a great gift which can be customized to give any time throughout the year! If you give it a try yourself, please share!

I also have a winner to announce from the December sketch... wendycrowe!! Congratulations! Please email me your address so that I can get your prize out to you!!

Have a terrific Friday and an amazing weekend and Thank You for taking the time to visit My Scraps & More!!

January Guest Design Team Member

Good morning!!! This is Tracy and I wanted to give a big welcome to our January Guest Design Team Member Shawna. Here is a bit of information to let you get to know her better.

Hello! My name is Shawna Webster. I am a 30 year old stay at home mom and student. I am working on my Bachelor's in Health care Administration while I chase my four year old around in between. I have been an avid scrapbooker for about 10 years. I can't imagine not scrapping. I currently live in Hawaii with my husband of 11 years and our kids...one son who is 10 and one daughter who is 4 going on 13. The Army has been moving us around for most of our marriage so we have had the opportunity to live lots of great places. My son was born in Germany. I am really excited to be a guest here this month and look forward to creating some fun projects! Happy scrapping!

How did you start scrapping?
I started 10 years ago. I was browsing the internet and came across some info and decided to give it a go.

Do you have a favorite manufacture?
October Afternoon

What is your favorite embellishment or technique to use when scrapping?

At the moment I love mists. It changes often though.

Now take a look at some of the fabulous pages Shawna has created and make sure to stop by the forum for her first challenge being posted tomorrow.

A Mini Album

Good morning!
This is Lisa and I am thrilled to be doing my first post on the blog here!
Now that the holidays are over, what do you do with your Christmas cards?
Every year I seem to get more and more handmade cards and photo cards. Rather throw them in a box, I thought I would display them by putting them in a mini album. I did this last year and placed it on my coffee table and people looked at it year round.
I loved Crate Paper's Peppermint collection when I first saw and knew it would be perfect to make another mini album for my cards.
Here is the cover:

One Sketch, Three Ways

Good Morning!!
This is Janelle. Tammi asked the design team members if we would each like to take a day of the week to post on the blog, and of course we all said...YES, we would love to! So you will be seeing me around here on Tuesdays.
I hope you are all having a great day. For us it is the last day of Christmas break and tomorrow is back to school so we are trying to soak up every moment we can! :)

Today I wanted to spotlight one of my favorite papers that Tammi has in the store right now. It is the beef broth paper from the Hearty Barley line from Jillibean Soup. So adorable, and perfect for making a bunch of quick and easy valentine cards!

Here it is:

Don't you agree? As soon as I saw this paper I knew I needed to have it to make my valentine creating a breeze! :)
So I came up with this very simple card sketch:

And whipped up a few cards in no time! I added some other Jillibean Soup papers (Dutch Mustard Soup line, also available in the store) and stickers, as well as a couple of buttons and some twine I had in my stash.

Here are the cards:

I love how different they are, even though they all use basically the same supplies and the same sketch. The possibilities are endless! :)

Thanks for stopping by the blog today....have a great one!
