Today and Sushi Love

Hello and good morning...

I have totally fallen in love head over heels in love with the latest Echo Park Capture Life collections... I love that it comes both in color and in black and white.. Not only can you used them separately but interchange the papers and embellies..

This page is using just the black and white version of the line of my little cutie, who happens to be 2 and a sushi lover.

This line had some cool embellishments, think cameras, hearts, view finders... and the alphas are great.

I then used the color version of the line for a page about hubby and I while we were in Hawaii.

I misted the top and bottom of the page for a textured feel, and then pleated my fussy cut arrow and sewed down the center of it.

The two versions of this line will pretty much work for almost any project.. I promise ya!!!
So check out the Echo Park Capture Life line in the store, and there are also several dies that coordinate with the line in store also..

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Hey Brother....

We've been listening to the radio a lot lately in the car, and my little ones love when the song "Hey Brother" by Avicii comes on.  So when I saw the big HEY sticker from the Basic Grey Highline stickers, I decided to use it as the title for my page!

I created some frames around my photo by cutting out the scalloped circles from the rainbow rounds paper by Heidi Swapp.  I added some fun bits to the photos including brads and stickers, and I die cut the words "brother" and "sister" from my machine.  I used the Basic Grey alphas to add part of the song lyrics as a sub title.

Finally, I splattered some mists, sequins, brads, and Heidi Swapp transparencies around the page, and finished by adding some journaling around the edge.

It's Just Her Thing

Happy Saturday, friends!  It's Missy here.  The layout I'm sharing today features some older Echo Park goodies...specifically the Record It 2 collection from a few years ago.  I created this for last week's Throwback Thursday challenge.  The rules were to use a collection at least two years old and to create your own background from plain cardstock.  (You can check out all the newer EP releases in the My Scraps store.)

I still have bits and pieces of this line left, and I just love it.  I used a sunburst stencil and some bright yellow Dylusions spray, stamps and spray ink to create my background.  I layered a few pieces of patterned paper behind my photo and then fussy cut a few flowers and the blue scalloped border on the right.  I added in several stickers and brads to finish it off.

I took some sandpaper to these red alphas.  They were just a tad brighter than I wanted, so this lightened them up perfectly and gave them a little bit of an edge.

Lots going on here...watercolor paint, stamping, pop dotted sticker, blingy brad and a stamp on a transparency.  That's a little trick I use sometimes if I want to stamp but don't quite know where.  I stamp it on a piece of clear transparency and then just cut it out.  I wouldn't have been able to stamp on the yellow thread, so this allowed me to layer the stamp on top.

More layers and stamping here.  The more I look at these detail shots, the more I love this collection!

I know you have LOTS of older collections lying around, so make a point to create a layout with some of it.  I love when you can take older goodies and make them "new" again!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT Mother's Day tomorrow!

Missy :)

Indoor Hoops

Good Morning My Scraps friends! Tammi here with you today to share what I created for the new sketch on the sketch blog today!

I have had these photos in my pile for awhile waiting to be scrapped but they are hard to work with. Since they were taken inside, through a window, the color is bad! Since it was something that was really enjoyed by my son I really wanted to record the memory so I didn't really worry about how the photos looked!!

I pulled out the Crate Boys Rule collection (again) and worked with it until I achieved my final result!

Simple but I love it just the same!!

Visit the sketch blog here to see the sketch and all of the other amazing inspiration from the design team. I hope that you will play along with us this week!!!

Happy Friday!

Autumn

I never thought about what the implications would be in naming my daughter Autumn in relation to scrapping. Do you know how easy it is to find tags and things with her name on it! Of course they are always fall colors.  Maybe I should have gone with Summer for her name.  That was actually my husbands first choice but I vetoed it :)

Now I will admit I've never been a big fan of Heidi Swapp.  In fact I don't think I have ever used any before now but I just loved the colors of this line.  I think the mix of brown, in with the blue and pink really brought it all together. I created this page using Heidi Swapp's Dreamy collection.

I love the frames that came with the collection.  On Autumn's pages there can never be too much bling.

Some Baseball, a Birthday and an Egg Hunt

Hello and good morning...

Wow!!! I can't believe it's already May!!! where did April go??? Well the forums were busy during the month of April with the sketchathon going on and I snuck some time to play along with a few of the sketches, so I'm sharing some of my pages with you....

I used some of the Elle's Studio Everyday Moments collection for a baseball page of my son:

The twist with the sketch was to add a bit of doodling, and I added some enamel dots and misting to the page also:

Next up, I used the Jillibean Soup Birthday Bisque collection for another birthday page of my lil one:

I fussy cut out several of the balloons from the Bunch of Balloons paper and added them as embellies and several of the coordinating stickers from the line:

Last up, I used a mix of the Heidi Swapp Dreamy papers and Heidi Swapp Favorite Things- the two lines were perfectly for interchanging, on this layout of my lil one and her first real Easter egg hunt:

I added misting on the page, along with inking my wood hexagons through the page:

and added lots of layers through the page, along with some stitching to hold it all together:

So if you missed it, the Sketchathon was a blast!!!! But you can still check out the sketches in the forum and start playing along with the May daily challenges that are posted...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!
