Think Inside the Box

Happy Saturday, My Scraps friends!  It's Missy here with you today.  I'm sure you've had that one sheet of patterned paper that you're just not sure how you're going to work with it.  This background paper from the Elle's Studio Cameron collection had me stumped for a while.  But when I saw the latest sketch over on our sketch blog, I knew right away that I could make this paper shine!  

I left the decorative side alone and just added a few buttons, floss and stamps.  The journaling spot and date spot were already there.  I followed the sketch on the right side.  I jazzed up the white space background with some modeling paste and watercolor paint.  That's how I added in the orange behind my photos.  The orange patterned paper was on the BACK of this background sheet, so I couldn't use it!  I hate when that happens!  So I improvised and added paint.  Paint is a GREAT way to add the one color you're not able to pull from paper.

Here you can see the paste, the paint....and I added some pop dots to my arrow to give some lift.

I think I'm obsessed these days with adding cord, twine or floss to my pages.  I like winding it up and adding it in...it's just fun!  And the stuff is cheap, too :)

Play Date!

My daughter has been making some new friends at school this year, and we have had our first couple of playdates!

I love the colors in the Basic Grey RSVP collection.  Even though it is birthday themed, it was perfect for this fun "playtime" page!

I kept the page pretty simple.  I used some stickers for a small banner in the top corner.  I splattered some mists and some star stickers on the page to add movement.

The I popped some letter stickers up near my journaling with the girls' initials.  And I created a visual triangle with three large circle stickers, too.

I Love Red

Christmastime just makes me think of red and I want to pull red into everything I'm doing.  Yes, that includes scrapping.  Normally I'm not really a red person.  It just screams warmth and cheer to me this time of year.

I pulled out MME's  Chalk Studio because the colors of the line are very muted with a lot of greys and browns.  This works really well for being able to add in whatever color you want to showcase on your page.  This is my daughter with some of her friends on a Mothers Day Out field trip to the fire station.  They were all required to wear red so we could keep track of them.

 Here is a closeup of one of the wonderful tags that comes in the collection "Life is better with true friends".

Trick Or Treat

Hello and good morning...

I know most of you are in the full Christmas time mood, but I am still scrappin Halloween. I can't get enough of it, and I always take so many photos and love to get them all scrapped. I absolutely fell in love with Pebbles's Thirty One line this year and am still using it.

I scrapped this photo of my older kids from last year:

 I used several of the papers and just cut strips and added lots of patterns to the page...sprinkled with a few MME enamel dots:

I also used a few of the Bella Blvd sticker embellies on the page:

So make sure to head over to the My Scraps & More store, it  looks like there's a bit of the Thirty One line left, so snatch it up to scrap those Halloween pics...
