Night Time Cutie

Hello and good morning...

Today I am sharing with you a layout with a new line that I have just FALLEN in love with.. It's Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.  I think it must be a mix of the style, the colors and maybe even all the fun patterns. But I have been loving using this line...

I created this page of my little cutie. One thing that I almost always NEVER do, is use pattern paper as my base. I use cardstock about 99% of the time. But this line had soooo many fun patterned papers, I wanted to challenge myself to use one for the base, and have an all paper, no cardstock page.

I came up with this:
I love how the sticker sheets come with both sticker images and alphas, so I have everything I need in one place.
I also used a few of the Layered Stickers from the collection, and then fussy cut out some butterflies to create my own 3D elements
Don't wait too long, I know this collection will be gone before you know it.. you can check it out in Tammi's store HERE. Run, don't walk :)

Have a great day

Waiting for spring....

It's been so cold here in NY this spring, and my kiddos have been itching to get outside. We had a "warmer" day (and i mean a day above 32 degrees! :) ) and the sun was out which warmed up our sun porch. So we went on the porch and played for a while!

I used today's sketch from the sketch blog, which you can find HERE!

I am so in love with the colors in the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm line!  The mint, navy, bright coral, sunshine, and pink and just an awesome combination! Here it is in the store: AC Dear Lizzy

I cut apart the chevron paper into smaller bits and then stitched down the centers.  I scattered them around the page to draw attention to different areas.

I also used some rub-ons, chipboard, die cuts, and stickers from this collection, too!

Hope spring is coming your way, soon!

A Swingin' Good Time {Maggie Holmes}

Happy Saturday, My Scraps friends!  Missy here today to share a page I created using the unbelievably gorgeous Maggie  Holmes line from Crate Paper.  It has to be one of my favorite collections ever!  You can get it in the My Scraps store HERE.

I found an awesome sketch on the October Afternoon blog, and I just had to use it.  It was perfect for using strips of different patterned papers.  They're all so gorgeous...so I used a bunch of them.  I used some black chalk and a Q-tip to smudge some black around the edges to give a shadow effect.  I added a little bit of stamping, some washi tape, a few buttons & twine, and that was it!

These papers are so inspiring to me...the most bold & beautiful colors!  Definitely even more stunning in person :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a wonderful weekend!

Missy :)

Keeping it Simple

I will be the first to admit that sometimes I'm in love with the gaudy.  It seems like I cannot get enough stuff on my LO.  The fatter it is the better.  So I do struggle with the simple.  When a paper comes out that has a large design to it I tend to put it aside because I don't want to cover the design but I want to add layers and layers to it.  This time I decided I was going to let the paper shine.

This is a piece from Fancy Pants Swagger line.  Other than the few little strips I only used 1 piece of paper and some paint for this page.  I stared at it for a long time and decided it really did not need anything else. This is the original piece of paper.

Color Me Happy!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Lisa here today to share a layout I made using the fun Color Me Happy Glitz Line! I used a sketch from the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog for this layout titled "Make It Happen" Now, I have to admit, I wasn't a big fan of Glitz, but this line has really changed my mind and I will be buying more:)

Don't forget, there is still time to play along with our Sketch-a-thon on the message board. Lot's of great sketches and fun twists to go with them!

Hope you have a wonderful day!
