Best Day Ever

Hello friends and happy Saturday!  It's Jennifer and I am sharing a layout I created with the new Crate Paper Maggie Holmes' Shine collection!  I am a huge fan of both Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes and was excited to see this fabulous line in the My Scraps and More shop!  The prints and colors are in the traditional Crate Paper fashion!

I used one of the lovely Wood Veneer Embellishments as my title...I am in love with these! You receive 16 different pieces in each pack.

Showing some of the Ephemera and coordinating Gold Foil Stickers that I layered under my photo. I added some enamel dots from my stash!

I love all of the little pieces included in the Ephemera, as well as the 12x12 Chipboard Sheet!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Check out this collection in the shop before its gone!  Have a wonderful day!

Hey Awesome Girl

Happy Friday!  Missy here :)  Today I'm sharing a layout I created a few weeks ago for the last September Tuesday Trigger Challenge over on our forums.  One of our themes last month was SCHOOL, so I created a fun school-related challenge.

English: Hand write your journaling directly onto your background.
Math: Use numbers on your layout.
History: Use a photo at least 3 years old.
Science: Mix and match some inks, mists or paints.

I used the Basic Grey Capture collection for this.  I created those numbers in my Silhouette software and cut them on my background paper.  After backing them with some blue paper, I covered a lot of the area behind the photo with white gesso.  I used gelatos and inks on top of that and then added my photo and layers.

I hand cut the AWESOME letters out of patterned papers and then cut "girl" on white cardstock on my Cameo.  I used gelatos to color it.  That fun scalloped border is from the sticker sheet, and I love that this lined paper was perfect for my journaling.

Creating a big element on your layout can be very striking.  The numbers were perfect since this was a "school" challenge :)  I incorporated a few pieces of coordinating chipboard and stitched through them.

More chipboard...I added some foam adhesive under the red heart since it was pretty high up and overlapping the green circle.

One more close-up of the title area...I took advantage of all of the Hellos, His and Howdys in this line and used them.  I also added a flair button from my stash :)

If you're not already, I would love to see you become a member over on the My Scraps forums!  We have a new challenge up every day, and the ladies over there are so nice, fun and supportive.  It's a great place to be!

And be sure to check out the My Scraps store...there is a TON of products in there!

Have a great day!

Missy :)

Black Out Babes

Hi there, Lisa S here today to share a layout I created using the oh so pretty, Hello Lovely, Cocoa Vanilla collection.  My daughter and her friends were attending a Black Out party and took this photo of them with their "cool" faces on...I just thought they looked so pretty!!

I love using the 3 x 4 cards on layouts...they sure make for a clean look!  And those wood grain alpha stickers?? Swoon!!!  The Flair?  Oh man, I sort of wanted to hoard this one...how cute is it?? And the bows?  Well, if you bought this line and are hoarding it, now's the time to use it!!!

Hope to see you sharing your layouts with Cocoa Vanilla!!

Word Up Wednesday!

Hello!
Lisa here with you today.
It's my day to post the Word Up Wednesday challenge today at the My Scraps & More forum.
The word I choose for today's challenge is "Adventure".
I used the Pink Paislee Atlas line for this layout of my daughter and hubby at the airport:

I love the map background paper! I added just a bit of watercolor to it to make it "pop"
Some close ups:

I fussy cut the "Let's Go Places" tag, "Adventure this way" tag  and the globes:

I love that "Travel" sticker!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Finders Keepers Cards.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!
Since it was recently World Card Making Day, I created a couple of cards using the Amy Tangerine's Finders Keepers collection.. A super fun and happy line, its always easy to work with her papers.

I used this card as a WCMD challenge- a challenge of ones- one word title, one main colors and one thing from your stash.

I added a ribbon pleat across it and used a VERY old Jillibean journal card for the title and some twine:

For my second card, I fussy cut the lemon out and used it as a focal point:

And also used a puffy sticker from the line for the sentiment:

So make sure to check out the Finders Keepers line and always save your scraps to create some cards when your done with your pages. There's something about a homemade card that puts a smile on anothers face.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

The big inbetween with Simple Stories

Good morning friends! I am sharing my layout for this weeks 6x6 paper pad trend. I had the  blessing of working with the gorgeous So Fancy pad by Simple Stories. This pad is just amazing for a house full of little girls!
I wanted to challenge myself by using just my paper pad with the exception of a few wooden embellishments by Evalicious.
I started by cutting my 6x6 pages of choice into triangles by cutting the page from corner to corner. I patterned them as my background. I then cut some simple circle to lay about my page. Wanting a bit more dimension, I cut and created lots of mini pinwheels in various sizes.I  than hand stitched them down for more interest.
Using my paper, I created a handcut title in the word big, a fun trend that appears to be circulating lately.
I loved how fun this turned out, and how amazingly vibrant the colors in this pad collection were!!

Run Paris

Hello! I'm continuing our week of the design team showcasing 6x6 paper pads!  As a traditional 12x12 paper gal, it's fun to mix it up with the smaller prints!  For my layout, I used Pink Paislee's Atlas collection.

I used a few different sizes of my circle punches  and adhered patterns into the center of my background cut file!

I had some of the ephemera pieces from Atlas left over so I incorporated a few into my page such as this tag!  I also love the acetate stars!

At the top and bottom of my layout, I adhered and stitched strips of different patterns from the 6x6 pad to create a border.

Hope this inspires you to use up some of your paper pads!  It's easy to create a background using a common shape throughout your page!  Have a great day!
