Enjoy Every Single Moment

What would we be without our friends?  That goes for our furry little stuffed friends as well.  Autumn was attached to her new little black bear she got when we were in the smoky mountains.  Which just happened to be the first time I ever saw a bear in the wild before.

This page was created with Fancy Pants True Friend collection.  There are so many great embellies that come with this collection but I have to say the roll of tickets is one of my favorite pieces.

Pillow Box

Hey there!
Lisa here today to share another project I created using the Fancy Pants Corrugated Cardboard.
I found directions on how to make a pillow box on Pinterest and decided to try making one.

I used the red Corrugated Cardboard along with the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas Embellishment kit and came up with this:

I am going to add some Hershey Kisses and give it to my Goddaughter for Christmas.

You can find the Corrugated cardboard in all the Fancy Pants kits.

Stop back next week where I will be sharing my last corrugated cardboard project with you.
                                                                 Enjoy your day!

ER Visit.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!!

You know when you find one of those lines, you just LOVE the colors, the patterns work with everything and the mix is just spot on amazing.... Yah, that's totally how I feel about the Fancy Pants True Friend collection.. I keep coming back to it and using it again and again, and everything theme has been totally different that I scrap.

Earlier, last February, my oldest daughter had a breather issue and we weren't able to resolve it at home, so in the middle of the night we had to make an ER visit. Never a fun thing, but everything worked out ok. When we were waiting on some tests, I asked if she minded if I took a pic, and of course she said yes. She's smiling, even though she's not at her best.

I used several embellies from the line, along with some of the label stickers.

And I'm also a sucker for a cute fox... even if it doesn't match the theme of the photo or page...

I also love using my sewing machine through out the page too:

I used the My Scraps & More sketch # 95, make sure to check it out and play along for a chance at a cool prize from Audrey.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a "foxy" day.....

Welcome the 2015 My Scraps & More Design Team!

First off, I want to thank EVERYONE who took the time to apply for the DT call!  I know from experience how nerve racking these calls can be, and I know FAR too well the disappointment that can come along with not making a team.  But NEVER stop applying!  You just never know when something you write or submit catches the reader'e eye for one reason or another!

The current Design Team, Lisa Moen, Missy Whidden, Wendy Robinson, and Tracy Rhodes and I have been together for almost 3 years!!!!  We finish each others....posts....(you thought I was going to say sentences, huh?).  We have worked so incredibly well as a team and I love these girls dearly!  Sadly, Tracy will be leaving the DT, but we hope that she continues to be an integral part of our forum community.

As the store grows, so must our reach to our customers, so that's why we are bringing in some new faces!  So without further jabbering, please welcome the new 2015 DT ladies:

I am so excited about what these ladies are going to bring to the team, and you are going to LOVE what they do!

************** 12 Days of Christmas*************

Our 12 days of Christmas challenges are still going strong on the forum!  Today's challenge, Dec. 8, is about 8 Maids-a-Milking....that's right...use white paint or ink on your page!  The background paper on my LO is from Echo Park Capture Life B&W, and the other papers are from Elle's Studio Good Cheer, plus some bits from Fancy Pants Oh Deer!

And do you recognize the word "Santa" in the title?  It's from the free cut file available in the store!

I tried this new technique that I saw on this Mixed Media Artists website I go to sometimes. Basically, you take some thread (like sewing thread....not embroidery because it's too thick) and you cut a long piece about 18". Wet the string a bit and then holding one end, you dip it into paint. Wipe the excess paint off with your fingers. Then you old the string over your paper, still holding just one end, and "drop" it onto your paper (don't let go of the end, though). Then gently just lift it off the page! It's fun and creates some cool lines!

Inspired by Abstract Art

Hey there, friends!  Missy here.  Today I'm sharing the final layout I created for our Pinspirational Crop that we hosted last month over on our forums.  Each of our challenges was inspired by a different type of "pin."  One of mine was Abstract Art, and when I found this gorgeous design, I knew right away I wanted to create a layout using the idea.  I just love the colors, the triangle shapes and the watercolor effect.

Here is what I created.  I really love how it turned out...and it was surprisingly very easy to make.  I took a piece of white cardstock and used various inks, paints and sprays to create a colorful watercolor design over the whole page.  I did coat it with gesso first.  Once the big watercolor design was dry, I took a small square punch and punched a bunch of little squares.  Then I just cut each square in half, diagonally, to create small triangles.

From there, I just started arranging them onto another piece of white cardstock, trying to mimic the Pinterest design.  I lightly outlined each triangle with a black pen to make them pop just a bit more.  The rest is just some stickers & embellishments from American Crafts, one from Elle's Studio, and a few I created myself using stamps & embossing powder.  Done!

Here's a good close up of the layers under the photo.  I just went through all of my bright goodies from American Crafts...a few different collections.

Aren't these colors just so gorgeous?  I added a few coordinating sequins here and there to add more interest, and mainly because I just love sequins :)

I really could stare at these colors all day long...and the watecolor look is just my favorite.

I really would've never have created this if I hadn't seen that Pinterest design!  It really does help spark your creativity, and it's great for getting you out of your comfort zone.  I think this is one of my all-time favorite layouts!  I hope it inspires you to try something new and fun!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Missy ;)

Let the joy of Christmas begin!!

Christmas every year seems to start earlier and earlier.  I'm one of those who refuses to talk much about Christmas until after Thanksgiving.  Each holiday deserves it's own time.  Now I can rejoice in the season.  What better way than scrapping.

Everything but the small piece of twine was created using  the Happy Holidays kit our very own Audrey put together. The snowman was part of one of the Simple Stories pattern papers that I cut to accent this photo.

Fancy Pants Corrugated Paper

Happy Wednesday Scrappy Friends!
Lisa here to share a layout I created using Fancy Pants Corrugated Cardboard.
There is so much you can do with these sheets and Fancy Pants includes them in their kits.
I will be sharing a few other projects I created the next two Wednesdays as well, so be on the lookout.
I used the kraft corrugated cardboard for my background, it's perfect for those beach pages! I added some blue Glimmer Mist to mimic the water and then added some Pink Paislee Solstice papers and gold stickers. I added a doily and a Crate Paper Notes & Things Journaling Card. The Love, Love, Love phrase is from the Amy Tangerine Bits package.

Here are some close ups:

I love the touch the pops of gold add to this page!

Don't forget, I will be posting another project next week using the corrugated cardboard from Fancy Pants.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!
