Curtain Tornado {Echo Park}

You're probably thinking, "What in the world is a curtain tornado?"  Haha!  Well, the photos in this layout explain it all :)

It's Missy here today to share this fun page using Echo Park's All About a Boy line.  Except I used it with girl photos!  Yep, it's very versatile, and it helps that my girls aren't the princess type :)  I wanted to use a lot of layers...and I even threw in a piece of vellum as one of my layers.  I also used some gelatos to add some smudges of color here and there.  I also added some cute stickers from the collection, some washi tape, some stamps, a button and some red floss.

I stamped a picture of a camera onto vellum...I like the way it turned out.  Easy way to create an embellishment!  And I just feel like I HAVE to have a button on all my pages :)

I like the way the layers curl up at the end...I don't like for papers to lay flat for some reason.

More close-ups of the layers :)

Check out all the Echo Park goodies in the store HERE...lots to choose from!

Thanks for taking a peek today...have a wonderful weekend!

Kiddie Kayak

Every summer, we spend LOTS of time in the Finger Lakes and in the Thousand Islands.  Let me tell you how EXCITED I was when I saw Pebbles Lakeside collection!!  Most summer collections are beach related with surfboards and beach umbrellas, not "lake" related with canoes and docks.  I love love this collection!

I used today's sketch on the My Scraps & More blog for this page.  Check it out HERE!

I used the water pattern paper as a guide for my machine stitched lines.  I created a large embelishment with the canoe sticker and some circles punched from patterned paper.

I used some "nautical" themed wood chips from Studio Calico and layered lots of the papers from the collection.   I used a few other wood patterned papers and stickers to create a visual triangle on the page.

You can find this collection HERE in the store!  Check it out!

Love the Beach

I'm not really a sesonal scrapper.  I tend to just grab whatever photos I want, but this summer all I want to scrap is relaxing summer photos.  I've been attacking our beach photos from last year.  It was such a relaxing time we had down in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Maybe that is it.  I want to recapture that relaxing feeling.  I used the soft colors of Jillibean Soups Chilled Cucumber Soup Collection for these photos of my kids with their grandma.

I love how the pops of yellow stand out on the page, it reminds me of the summer sun!

Last day to get your Got Talent entries in for the weekly prize.  Get ready a new challenge will be up tomorrow morning.

Document This Moment

Happy Wednesday!
Lisa here with you today to share a layout I made using the My Minds Collectable Collection. This is one of my favorite lines from My Minds Eye! I used the fun photo booth photos we had taken at my nieces wedding in April and combined it with a My Scraps & More Sketch Blog sketch #34 to come up with this fun page:

I made my flower out of a scalloped circle punch, vellum, mists, alcohol ink and a brad. Isn't it cute?!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

You Make Me Smile.

Hello and good morning...

One thing that I am a HUGE fan of is a good guy line... fun colors, great patterns and funky, but not too themey... I knew I found it in the Elle's Studio Cameron collection.. it's perfect, and can even cross the line into girl pages or baby pages.

I used the Elle's Studio's Cameron line for this page of my hubby. The photo was taken the day he left the hospital and we went and got some sushi.

I took the wording strip from the Happy Moments paper and used it for my title work:
And played around with some circle punches on the page using the Big Dots paper and some of the Elle's embellies too:

Make sure to check out this collection before it's gone in the My Scraps store...

Have a great day

Birthday Girl {Echo Park}

Happy Saturday, My Scraps fans!  Missy here to share a fun page I created using Echo Park's Here and Now collection.  Let me just say that in every collection there is that one piece of patterned paper that turns out to be my favorite.  In this collection, every piece is my favorite!  No kidding!  The colors are so bright and beautiful, and I really didn't want to actually cut any of them.  I'm sure you know what I'm talking about...haha!  I had to sit and stare at these papers for a while before I hacked them up :D

These pictures of Paige were taken just after she turned two.  I wanted to create a birthday layout without it looking like a party page.  I started with some gelatos to create a watercolor effect around the page, and then I layered in my papers, washi tape and stamps.

Check out the My Scraps store HERE to see more of this gorgeous Echo Park collection!

Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
