First up is Martine's layout based on a sketch by Kristine Davidson....  I just love her choice of colors and the bits of 'confetti'

Then we have this adorable layout from member '7thHeaven' --- how awesome is that big circular photo with the playful wave cut of paper?

And I just adored this 'Bieber' layout from our own DT member Missy!  How adorable is this kid?!?  I do so love the yellow and blue color combo as well!!

Summer Begins Now!

What's better on a hot summer day than a refreshing popsicle? How about receiving a cute popsicle in the mail from a friend?

I made these cards to send out to the kiddos in my class to thank them for showering me with gifts at the end of the year. I got word from one of the parents that her daughter tried to rip the popsicle off and eat it! That wouldn't taste so good!

The popsicle is a 3 X 2 rectangle with rounded corners and a scrap of brown for the stick! I used my scallop punch on the edge for a bite taken out! So Easy - you could whip out a bunch of these with scraps!

October Afternoon Cakewalk!!!

Don't be afraid of the water!

I have been loving this first week of summer (well not official summer, but kids out of school summer).  I hope you are not afraid of the pools, lakes, or ocean.  We plan to spend lot's of time in the water this summer.  That is really the only way to get outside during the summer in Texas.

I wasn't actually referring to that kind of water though.  I was referring to water and your layouts.  I know that probably makes some people cringe.  I used to be very careful keeping any type of liquid far away from my papers.  Lately though, I've been having quite a bit of fun with water.  Here is an example.

 

First I took a paintbrush and brushed water all around the edges of the polka dot paper.  With the paper wet I began rolling and scrunching it.  It is very easy to get that distressed look when it is wet and then it will dry again and be stiff in the form you want it.  Next I painted onto the background.  I wanted to have a little purple in there to match the uniform but didn't want to overdo it on a boy layout so I took a wet paintbrush and blended the blue and purple streaks in with the white to give it just a touch of color.  So don't be afraid of that water anymore.

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning and happy Wednesday to you!
It's our last day of school, which means my last day of work! I am so looking forward to this summer!
Tammi has some awesome washi tapes in the store and I made a card with some of the Bella Blvd. ones. I am loving these and plan on playing more with them this summer! Here is a simple and fast card I Lifted from somewhere, but can't remember where.... I would love to give credit if you know where.

It's getting closer!

Do you have a plan yet? Father's Day is less than 2 weeks away! We have never spent a lot of money for mother's day or father's day but usually get the kids involved in doing things for the other one. I love that my boys take time to do things for me on mother's day and I know the gifts we have made DH have meant much more than anything we could buy! I made him a photo frame this year to go with the things the boys are making him using the BoBunny Et Cetera collection.
