My Heart

Hello and good morning...

One thing that makes me LOVE to scrapbook is that I scrapbook things that are dear to my heart, things that mean alot, and things that I want to remember. Mainly, my family is the man theme that I scrap. In fact, most of my pages are about my kids.

Right now for the My Scraps and More Got Talent III contest, I came up with this challenge... to scrap something that is CLOSE to your HEART, something that means the world to you. I also challenge scrappers to use at least 3 hearts and include the word HEART on their page.

I scrapped my kids. They mean everything to me, being a mom is the best job and calling that I can imagine or ask for.
I used Echo Park's Beautiful Life for this page, the colors and patterns just seemed to work perfectly!!! I even used the HEART element sticker for part of my title work.
I fussy cut several of the doilys from the backside of the Tickets paper and added them through out my page.
and added some misting to pull the page together.

What do you scrap that is close to your heart???? Make sure to hop over to the forum to play along...

Have a great day

My Little Snacker

Hello there!  Missy here with you on this lovely Saturday to share a page with you.  I know...it's a Valentine page right in the middle of summer!  I'm one of those scrappers who creates whatever inspires her at the time, so this is the result of that...haha!  I used a mix of Crate Paper collections...Fourteen, On Trend and Little Bo Peep.  This layout was part of one our Got Talent III challenges....to FRAME something!

I began with white cardstock.  I created a circle template with my Cameo and used modeling paste over it for some really neat texture.  Then I watered down some blue paint and dabbed some here and there over the circles after they dried.  I layered a lot of patterned papers down, added washi tapes, fussy cut hearts and sequins.  I also used some of the chipboard elements that are in the CP collections.

A close-up of the layers...

I love this chipboard frame!

I cut this tag from a piece of patterned paper and added and eyelet and some cord.

I fussy cut these hearts out and even traced a few.  The sequins add that extra pop.

Don't miss out on all the amazing CHA lines coming in to the My Scraps Store!  You're able to pre-order a lot of it, and of course there's a discount!  Go check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a super weekend!

I like mine With Sprinkles!

How do you like your ice cream?  The kids always get rainbow Sprinkles!  :)  I kinda like them, too!

I used The Pier collection from Crate Paper and have just been eating this line up (pun intended) doing summer pages!  There were some cute little ice cream embellishments that were perfect!  This page is based off of today's sketch on the My Scraps & More sketch blog, which you can see HERE.

I love the gold accents in this line in some of the embellishments and even the Thickers.    Here are lots of layers, some enamel dots from MME, and some die cuts.

I used some gold polka dot washi tape from my stash to add a bit more gold.  Lots of papers layered behind the photos.

Some chipboard and buttons from my stash plus a bit of stitching in pink.

Are you hungry for some Ice Cream now?  :)

Time for Camp!

As you are reading this I am attending church camp with the youth.  I have gone to our church's childrens camp where we took about 15 kids but this year my son is in youth so I decided to go with them.  There will be 108 kids going from our church, grades 7th-12th.  I hope you are praying for me.  I'm sure it is going to be an experience.  In honor of camp I decided to create a page from camp last year.  I created this page using Fancy Pants Swagger Collection.

I decided to get a little playful with some thick twine that I had.  I was originally going to sew with it but I was entirely too thick for my needle and the holes so I got out my handy glue and got a similar effect.

Happy Birthday

Hello and good morning...

One of go to lines lately has been the Lily Bee Pinwheel line, it just works with everything!!! The colors and patterns are fun and great for ANY occasion.
I used some photos from Sydney's last birthday. I just LOVE the glasses she got and is wearing in the photo.
I added some misting splats in the background, and cut out some of the circle pies from the CartWheel paper and scattered them through out.
I also cut several of the wording bubbles from the Flip Flop paper and added them onto the page as embellies:
and then layered some pennants on the side:

Make sure to check out this line in the My Scraps store HERE.it's completely wonderful!!!! And if you haven't checked out Tammi's make over to the store, CHECK IT out!!!! it's super easy to find what you are looking for...

It's Okay to be Negative

Hey there, My Scraps fans!  Missy here with you today...and while I'm usually a positive person, today I'm being negative.  Well, when it comes to scrappin'...haha!  Today's page is one I created for our Got Talent III competition going on right now over on our boards.  You MUST come join us!

The challenge is to create a page using the NEGATIVE cuts from either a die-cut machine, a punch or a shape cut with scissors or a knife.  I cut out all these butterflies on my Cameo on white cardstock.  Then I placed it on top of another piece of white cardstock that I colored with gelatos.  I was going for a pink to orange ombre look...and it turned out really pretty, I think.  You can use different pieces of patterned paper instead if you'd like.

Since the picture is of my little Paige and her Great-Great-Grandmother, I wanted it to be a special page and very girly, so I went minimal on the patterned papers.  I used a piece from Crate Paper and a few other randoms from my stash.  I also used one of the die-cut butterflies here as an embellishment.  I painted it blue to match the light blue wash "sky" I painted on the top half of the layout.  I wanted some kind of contrasting color, and this light blue was perfect.

I also added in a few washi tape strips to add more pops of color.

You really should come join us over on our boards...lots of fun challenges going on all through the summer.  There are weekly prizes, grand prizes...prizes everywhere!  And the ladies over there are awesome...and lots of inspiration daily for you.

As always, check out our store HERE...lots of new things coming your way very soon!

Have a great day!

Missy :)

Summer Memories

Last week I posted about how much I love the "Lakeside" collection from Pebbles and today I am going to share some more layouts that I made!  The kids love running up and down the dock and jumping off of it into the water!  I wanted to use a really big photo to capture the size of the dock.

I used every piece of patterned paper that came in this collection on this page.  With the large photo, I was able to use a lot of the patterns together and still not distract from it.

I simply cut a whole bunch of strips of paper and distressed them all and started layering them down the sides of the photo.  Then I machine stitched down the edges of my photo.

I just layered a few simple embellishments and stickers to top it off and kept it simple in that department!

Sunny Days!!!

Have yo been participating in our Got Talent Challenges.  This week Lisa challenged us to create a sunburst on our page.  I've done paper sunburst before but wanted to go a different route this time around.  I found a really cute page on my favorite scrappy inspiration place, Pinterest of course.  It was a sunburst that had been painted on the page, so I thought I would give it a try.

Here is what I came up with using Fancy Pants Park Bench.

Here are a few closeups.

Today is your last day to get your sunburst in for a chance at the weekly prize.  Don't worry if you don't get it done by tonight, you still have plenty of time to work on it for the big grand prize.  A new weekly challenge will be up tomorrow morning.

My Messy Side!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Lisa here with you to share a messy layout I created! I used a My Scraps & More Sketch Blog sketch #36 along with Elle's Studio Saltwater Collection, added blue paint to my background, some gesso mixed with yellow paint over a mask and then added some red paint and let it drip:

This is not my usual type of layout, but I had fun creating it, LOL
Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!

You are my Happy Place

Hello and good morning...

I have to say, I have just been swept up, head over heels and madly in love with the Echo Park Here and Now collection..  There are some lines that just grab my attention and I can use up and play with, over and over again, and never get sick of. This is totally one of those lines. In fact, I am STILL using it, and pulling from the line.

I lifted one of the members from the forum, Sally, and came up with this page for the lift challenge on Mondays.
I added enamel dots to the flower centers, and punched a border for the bottom paper:
Added some misting, in two colors and sprinkled some of the sticker butterflies across the page from the sticker elements sheet:
And then used one of the word strips for the title of my page, that always makes the page come together super easy:
So in case you haven't given this line a chance, I HIGHLY recommend it. The bright colors just make me feel happy when I scrap... Check it out in the My Scraps & More store HERE.

Have a great day
