Ride 'em Cowgirls!

Admit it - you all have those few pics that have been sitting in your stash FOREVER!!! Well you are not alone - so I have vowed to start getting through some of mine. I am not suffering from false hope that I will not order any new ones until I've scrapped the old ones, but I will make a dent. So this is a pic I've had from Memorial Day - 2 years ago - taking the daughter of a friend out for a ride on Peanut. When looking for paper I fished out the Sasparilla line from October Afternoon. It's so great for outdoor and travel pics and of course for little cowpokes too!

Giveaway Monday 7/30/12

Good Morning! I hope that the weekend treated you all well! Mine was a great one spent with my family...JUST what I need right now! Besides family time, I also got in just a bit of scrappin'! Yay me! It felt good to play with paper again, and Lord knows that I have a ton of it to get through!! haha! I decided that it would be nice if I could create something to go along with my giveaways each week, to give you all a little look at what you could do with what you may win ya know?!? Here is the layout that I created using a sketch from Kristin Davidson from our Got Talent II contest...

I used some papers from the Crate Paper "Little Boy Blue" collection because I wanted to show that these papers are not just for use with little boys!! Crate Paper has been a huge favorite of mine for a long while so I had to find a way to get these beautiful papers into my scrapbook without having to dig years back for some baby pictures (though I plan to do that too! hee hee ) If you would like to win some of these great papers yourself, please leave a comment here by midnight August 5th, letting me know how you would use them!! I will announce a winner next Monday and speaking of winners...

Glitter, Glitter, and more Glitter

Good Morning ladies! Wendy here!

We all know that being ladies it's so hard to pass up shiny, sparkly, glittery things.
I know it's the first thing to catch my eye whenever I go out.
But how about on your scrapbook pages? Do you tend to use lots of shiny things?
I love playing with glitter and Stickles, I just can't believe how much of it ends up everywhere else. My hubby just asked me yesterday why his mouse pad was covered in glitter....ummmm...I don't know...lol.

I hope you are still hanging around playing along with the "Got Talent II" challenges. Challenge #6 has been posted, and of course, it has to do with all the glitters.

Here is the page I posted for the challenge using a glittered title card from My Mind's Eye and then tracing everything in Stickles:

And since I couldn't get enough of it, I made another page using Authentique papers, glittered alphas and more glitter and Stickles.
It's fun to see how just a little bit of sparkle can change the whole look of your pages and make them stand out.

Don't forget to stop by the store and check out the pre-order section for the newest Glitter papers from My Mind's Eye...I can't wait!!!!

A Refreshing Tutorial

I began by searching on the computer of an image of a margarita glass. Once I found one I liked I printed it out and cut it apart for a pattern. You may be able to use a cricut, stamp, a digital stamp, or something similar to find your margarita glass shape.

1. Use your cut apart image as a pattern to trace on your pattern paper.

2. Cut out and assemble your margarita glass on a piece of pattern paper. Mat that to a another piece of paper and place on card.

3. To create lime wedge on glass -
  • Cut out a 1 ½ inch circle. Cut that in half and cut a small slit in the center. This your lime.
  • To create the sections of the lime - punch out a scallop circle. Cut this scallop circle in half.
  • Using one of those halves cut off each scallop in a wedge shape. Glue onto lime. Trim off excess points.
4. Slide lime wedge onto glass.

5. To wrap twine I punched three holes on the front of my card near the fold. I fed the twine through the holes and wrapped around the front of card. Tape down ends of twine on front of card. Place a button to hide where the strings end in the front.

6. Run a line of glue along the top edge of the glass. Sprinkle glitter on the glue generously. When dry knock off the excess glitter.

And there you have a refreshing card for someone special!

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day,
Kristin

The More the Merrier

Merry Christmas!!!  I know you are thinking I'm crazy, but have you noticed how much talk there is of Christmas lately.  I have!  It seems everywhere I go there is something going on titled Christmas in July.  And of course CHA is tempting us with all of their new Christmas lines.  I decided to get busy with lot's of layering of papers.  For this page I started off with a sheet of Prima Christmas paper because the colors went so well with the Echo Park This and That Graceful collection.  Then it was time for the embellishments and as I said in my title, the more the merrier!  My motto is when you think you are done add two or three more and then you might be done :)

Good to the last scrap!

Well I am about to be off to camp so I spent the weekend getting in some scrappy time. I am so excited about all the new lines being released for CHA! Of course my husband wanted to know why I would need more paper because I have so much - how do you explain that to a man! But I do have a lot, so I decided to finish off some of my stash. You know when you have those last couple pieces that get shoved in the back of your stash. So this weekend I managed to finish off 3 of the lines I have been hoarding! I did a few LOs and some cards, now if I could do that about 5 more times I would be in great shape to stock up on all the new stuff!

Here are a few of the projects I did this weekend using the last of my Authentique lines CelebrateGenuine and Glory.

Giveaway Monday is Back!!

Good Morning! Thank you to all of you who have been thinking and praying for me. Losing my Dad is the hardest thing that I have ever gone through and still can not believe that he is gone. He was a very big part of my life. I am just so thankful that I followed my heart and jumped in my car to make the long trip home. That gave me the opportunity to share his last couple of days with him, which I will forever cherish!

Now onto the scrapbooking front...how about this CHA!!?? What are your favorites? What can you do without? Please leave me a comment here answering that by midnight Sunday for your chance to win the cute papers from Simple Stories "Summer Fresh" collection. They arrived while I was gone and were just added to the store. I can not wait to create with them myself!!

Have a great Monday!!!

July Reveal

Jillibean Soup is one of my favorites --- simple designs with amazing color schemes!  Unbelievable versatility!  Upon receipt of the Homemade 6 Bean Soup and Chilled Strawberry Soup lines, I had ideas galore!  While I didn't get a chance to make every layout that came to mind, I did create these three.....

I fussy cut each of the little florals on this last layout...I wanted to try a bit of floral confetti.  I can't wait to do it again, I love the look of it!

Don't you just love these papers?  Go check them out in the store HERE.  While you're there, check out the other amazing lines from Jillibean.  I am thinking I need to grab some of the Coconut Lime Soup line!

Enjoy your day!

Good morning to everyone! The Design Team was sent Jillibean Soup's Chilled Strawberry Soup and Homemade 6 Bean Soup this month. I had alot of fun creating with these lines. Sharing Summer Soup!

I hope you have enjoyed the DT projects that have been shared so far! Today I have a few more to share with you. I have gotten a lot out of the Jillibean paper I got from the Chilled Strawberry Soup line and Homemade 6 Bean Soup. And the papers mix very with with all the other Jillibean lines as well.

Here is the first LO I made using Chilled Strawberry Soup:

And more of a heritage page of my grandparents, mother and aunts using the Homemade 6 Bean Soup:

And with all the reds and greens I even made a Christmas LO using a little of both lines!

Before I was done I also made a Birthday card, put a movie gift card inside and dressed it up using a popcorn bucket for a party the twins were invited to!

I am still struck by how versatile these lines are! TYFL!

Missy's DT Reveal

Nothing is better than sitting around enjoying some sweet strawberries.  Time to savor the deliciousness of Missy's creations using Jillibeans Chilled Strawberry Soup and Jillibeans Homemade 6 Bean Soup.

Ginni's DT Reveal

Hello!  I had so much fun creating with the Jillibean Soup collection in my kit!  Here are my reveals for this month.

First is a layout using the Got Talent Challenge #5 sketch by Julie Bonner.  It's about several of my online scrappy friends gathering two years ago in Houston for a crop.
I fell in love with this sketch as soon as I saw it!  And then I realized I had another DT reveal project to do so I combined them and here’s my version of this sketch!  I’m still finishing pages from the My Sketch World crop two years ago in Houston and we just had another one.  What FUN it is to meet online friends in real life (IRL)!!!  The pictures were taken at the Archiver’s store where we spent that Saturday scrapping and having a blast.  I punched all the flowers, leaves and the border.  I used the cut away pieces from the border for the centers of my flowers.  I cut the center of the background paper out and used that to punch my flowers.
Materials – All Papers – Jillibean Soup (from the My Scraps & More Store); Punches – Kreaxions #602 Leaf, Kreaxions #603 Flower, Kreaxions #919 Border; Rhinestones – Queen & Company; Pens – Sakura Gel Roll, Sharpie; Title Sticker Letters – Creative Imaginations; Flower – Prima; Stickles – Ranger

Next is a layout about my granddaughter Molly.   I used a tutorial in the February 2012 edition of Scrapbooks Etc. to create the doily flower.
I sprayed the blue and orange flowers and the doily flower with Glimmer Mist to match my paper.  I took the chipboard title and put it upside down on upside down cardstock and traced then cut it out for my mat.
Materials – Cardstock – Bazzill; Patterned Papers – Jillibean Soup (From the My Scraps & More Store); Flowers – Prima; Glimmer Mist – Tattered Angels; Border Punch Kreaxions  #309 with Template A; Stamp – Creative Imaginations; Ink – Stampin Up; Chipboard Title – Hampton Arts; Pens – Sakura Gel Roll, EK Success; Brads – Recollections; Sticker Flower – Unknown

This is my oldest stepson and one of his dogs in 2011.  I used a PageMaps sketch from July 2012.  I used my Kreaxions Circle Cutter to create the scallop border and to cut the circle around the round rubon.

Materials – Sketch – Becky Fleck; Black Cardstock – Paper Accents; Kraft Paper, Patterned Papers – JilliBean Soup (from the My Scraps & More Store); Brads – Recollections; Ink – Colorbox; Rubons – Glitz Designs, Cosmo Cricket; Stickers – Amer. Trad. Designs, Galloping Horse Productions, Stamping Station; Pens – Sharpie, EK Success, Sakura Gel Roll; Circle Cutter – Kreaxions

Finally is a card I made. I cut the strawberries and little flowers from some patterned paper.  The border and red “crosses” are punched pieces.
Materials – Cardstock – Recollections; Patterned Papers – Jillibean Soup; Border, Crosses Punch – Kreaxions #919 ; Circle Cutter – Kreaxions; Pens – EK Success, Sharpie; Bling – Unknown; Stickles – Ranger; Ink – Colorbox
I hope I've inspired you to go into the My Scraps & More Store and purchase some of these super fun papers and create your own masterpieces!  Happy Scrapping!  Ginni Gass, DT Member
