Happy Friday! I hope that you all have some fun, exciting plans for the weekend! I am looking forward to spending some family time and, hopefully, getting a little creative time in as well!

Today I am bringing you some color inspiration! I ran across this site the other day that has some great color palettes. Even though it is geared towards brides, the palettes work great for scrapbooking. I found it a fun way to get my page started!!
For another fun twist to this post, leave me a comment here with your guess as to what scrap company my papers are from on this layout! All of the correct answers will go into a random drawing for a rak from me! You have until midnight, February 2nd, to enter.

Have a terrific Friday and don't forget to register over on the message board, if you aren't already, to get in on our Idol Search contest! It is going to be a lot of fun with tons of prizes to win! You won't want to miss it!!

Authentique

Good morning!
Lisa here to share a layout I made of my husband and son using the Authentique Journey Collection. I just love the blue and brown color combo of this line, perfect for those "guy" pages or cards.

For this layout I used:
Foundations blue/cream paper
Jaunt paper
Promenade (the backside has the chevron pattern)
Voyage paper
and the Noteables Diecuts: Every Day I Love You More & Together
I also added punched circles, cut in half, to make my border and added buttons and a flower.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

DIY: make your own chevron stripes

Good Morning!
It's Janelle here again and I have a little tutorial for you today!

So have you noticed the chevron crazy going on right now?
This pattern is everywhere!  Fabric, paper, wallpaper, rugs, towel...everywhere!
I wanted to show you how to make your own chevron stripes out of patterned paper.
Let's get started!

STEP1: cut several strips of paper, all the same size.  Mine were 4" long by 3/4" wide.

STEP 2: Hold two of the strips so that the corners overlap at a 90 degree angle.

STEP 3: Take your scissors and cut through the corner of the papers, straight from the inside corner to that outside point.

STEP 4: You have two strips of paper with mitered edges that should match up pretty darn near perfectly.

STEP 5: Repeat steps 1-4 for each end of each strip of paper. Continue adding more stripes in various patterns until you have achieved the desired pattern.

And here is my finished layout with the patterned chevron stripes! I used Crate Paper's Toy Box collection for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Have fun creating!

Mix and Match

Good Morning, this is Tracy and I'm here to tell you about something I have a lot of difficulties with, mixing lines! It is just so easy to grab one line out with all it's matching embellishments and create a whole LO from it. Sometimes the colors are not quite right though and you need a little something more. One of the easiest ways to mix lines is to look at lines in the same manufacture. Many times they will have similar designs and shades that work really well together but by putting the two together they will give you the color variety you need. That is what I did with these Authentique lines. For this layout I used the Journey and Uncommon lines.

By mixing the lines I was able to get the feminine and masculine look for the layout of 2 of my little ones all dressed up on Easter Sunday.

With this one I combined the Journey and Blissful Authentique lines.  This helped highlight each boy with the clothes they were wearing.

A Little Taste of Summer and A Recycled Flower

Good morning! Lisa here with you again. I don't know about you, but it gets to be this time of year, and I am ready for summer. Although the weather has been really mild so far this winter, I am still thinking (and dreaming) about wearing capris and flip flops. lol.
So, to go with the wishful summer theme, I decided to pull out my Echo Park Summers Day collection. I love the bright, fun colors of this line. Here is a layout I made using:
Clouds patterned paper
Icecream patterned paper
Scallops patterned paper
Rainbow patterned paper
Journaling cards
You can check out the entire Echo Park Summers Day line in the store HERE
I stamped the fairy images and used watercolor pencils to color them and added Stickles.
I also made my flower. It is made out of a recycled dryer sheet. All you do is cut 3 circles, each one a little smaller than the first, add color with a mist: http://shop.myscrapsandmore.com/October-Afternoon-Colormists_c103.htm,
let dry, add Stickles around the edges of the circles. Let dry. Stack them from biggest to smallest and hold the three layers together with a brad or button. I squish mine up a little to give it more dimension.
Hope you enjoyed my little bit of warm weather and sunshine today:)

Snow Day

Good Morning!
It's Janelle here again, and I'm wondering...do you have snow on the ground where you are?
I don't...boo! So I have been making up for the lack of real snow by playing with Pink Paislee's Snow Day line!

Have you seen these papers? So cute! I ordered them with the intention of making Valentine cards, but when I got them I was struck with not only how cute they are, but also how versatile they are! So many fun patterns and colors that would work great for winter, Valentines, baby, birthday, etc.

Here are the cards I have made with it so far:

I really love the colors of this line... and that chevron paper?! So fun!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sketchy Friday!!

How about a new sketch for you today? It is my turn on the message board to post the challenge so I thought it would be good to share here as well! Please share your layouts if you take on this sketch...I had fun with it! I used the Fancy Pants "It's the Little Things" collection to showcase this picture of my husband and I. I am rarely in pictures but our resolution theme this week is "bad Habits' and one of mine in scrapping is not making sure that I am included in some of our family photos. Even though I do not appreciate them now, I know that my kids will in the future!

Have a wonderful Friday!!!

Tracy's January Design Team Reveal

Good Thursday Morning everyone! This is Tracy here to share with you the fun I had with Echo Parks Winter Park Collection. Echo Park is one of my favorite companies and I loved the colors in the winter line. It has been so fun for me to work with winter papers since here in East Texas we don't get much snow, but the last two years have been really good to us in spoiling the kids with a few snow days.

I loved the embellishment stickers that came with this collection and used them to cluster around my banner.

The blue and white tones were the perfect match for the shadows created by the trees in my photos, and I loved the border strips that I was able to cut apart and layer on this page.

Thanks for looking and don't forget you have until the 15th to take advantage of the the Inventory Reduction Sale going on in the store and get 65% off of your entire order with code IRS65.

A few close ups:

I loved the snowman and the cute mitten banner and just had to use them on this layout:
Next I altered a frame. I took a frame I purchased at Michaels, painted it white, sprayed it with Glimmer Mist added Glossy Accents, stamped snowflakes with paint and added paper and embellies:

Mini Desk Calendar

Good Morning and TGIF!! Today I want to share with you a desk calendar that I made for my step daughter. A couple of weeks before Christmas I saw these great picture frames at Michaels and got this idea. My intention was to complete it before the holiday and give it to her as a gift but I had no creative time through the holiday so it ended up being a few days late.

I first started with my supplies: 12 wallet sized pictures, wide frame with glass out, 2 large binder rings and small 12 month calendar pages (which I printed for free from the internet)

I then cut my chosen papers to the desired size ( mine are about 5 x 7 )

and then I trimmed the calendar pages to fit my mini-layouts...

I ALWAYS ink everything so this was no exception. I also used my crop-a-dile and punched two holes at the top to fit the binder rings.

and I created 12 mini-layouts! Here are a couple of the completed pages. (this was the fun part!!)

From all of my excitement for finishing the project, I forgot to take a picture when it was completed. :( I hope that you can still get the idea. I am planning on making one for myself soon! It came together really quickly and made a great gift which can be customized to give any time throughout the year! If you give it a try yourself, please share!

I also have a winner to announce from the December sketch... wendycrowe!! Congratulations! Please email me your address so that I can get your prize out to you!!

Have a terrific Friday and an amazing weekend and Thank You for taking the time to visit My Scraps & More!!
